Kylie Jenner and boyfriend Timothée Chalamet were feeling the love at Sunday night’s Academy Awards, stealing kisses and taking selfies between categories.

But eagle-eyed fans may have noticed that the makeup mogul and reality star got up and moved back a row before Oscar-nominated Chalamet’s Best Actor in a Lead Role category was announced.
Why? Simple. According to E!, Jenner was just making space so Chalamet’s mom Nicole Flender could be by her son’s side for the big moment.
Chalamet Surrounded By Support During Oscars
This isn’t the first time Chalamet’s mom has been on hand to support her son during awards season. She was there when the actor won Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role at last month’s SAG Awards.
In his acceptance speech, Chalamet said, “I’ll start by thanking my mother who I’m here with tonight. She has been working at Actors’ Equity for 40 years, in the stage union.”
“I know the classiest thing would be to downplay the effort that went into this role and how much this means to me,” he went on to tell the crowd, “but the truth is this was five and half years of my life.”
Adrien Brody Wins Best Actor Oscar, Sets Record with Speech
The Best Actor Oscar ultimately went to Adrien Brody for his work in “The Brutalist.” The actor set a record in 2003, at age 29, as the youngest person to win an Oscar for Best Actor for “The Pianist.” Chalamet, at 29, would have tied that record this year had he won instead.
Brody set another record at the 2025 Academy Awards, this time with the length of his acceptance speech. “The Brutalist” actor spoke for five minutes and 40 seconds, making the longest acceptance speech in academy history. When music started playing to cue the actor to wrap up, he protested, saying, “Please turn the music off! I’ve done this before! It’s not my first rodeo. I will be brief.”
British actor Greer Garson previously held the title for longest acceptance speech, according to the Guinness World Records. She gave an acceptance speech lasting five minutes and 30 seconds during the 1943 Oscars after winning for her performance in “Mrs. Miniver.” The Oscars were not televised at that time.
Halle Berry Recreates Iconic Moment with Adrien Brody
For his first Oscar win in 2003, Brody surprised award show viewers and his presenter, actress Halle Berry, by planting a kiss on her before accepting the Oscar from her.
Sunday night, Berry returned the favor, playfully ambushing Brody on the red carpet and kissing him passionately.
“I’ve been dying to pay him back for 22 years,” Berry told Brody’s partner, Georgina Chapman, who cheered the kiss.
