Keanu and Alexandra’s Love Story
The couple’s story began back in 2009, when they met through a creative collaboration. In 2011, they collaborated on “Ode to Happiness,” a book that Reeves wrote and Grant illustrated. “The book was made as a surprise, by me, for Keanu, as a private gift,” Grant told British Vogue. “All our friends sitting in the room got the giggles when I gave it to him—they said, ‘Please publish it!’ So that’s how we got into publishing.”

Their professional connection turned romantic, and in 2019, they made things official with their first red carpet appearance as a couple. “I think every single person I knew called me in the first week of November, and that’s fascinating,” Grant told People. “But the question I’ve been asking in all of this is: ‘What is the opportunity for good?’”
Inside Keanu-Alexandra’s Quiet, Strong Bond
Over the years, both Reeves and Grant have spoken candidly about their love and mutual respect. In 2023, Reeves told People that his last “moment of bliss” was shared with Grant. “A couple of days ago with my honey,” he said. “We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”
That same year, Grant reflected on the strength of their bond. Talking to People, she said, “The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun,” she said. “I feel very confident in the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident on it alone. It’s interdependent and independent in the best ways.”
