Reports have been flying all over the place that Joss Whedon is going to be the director behind The Avengers. Deadline.com reports that Whedon (Dollhouse and Buffy the Vampire Slayer) is currently in the final stage of negotiations with Marvel. The film will be the connection between Marvel characters like Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Captain America (Chris Evans) under Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) who is the leader of SHIELD.
Here’s hoping this one works out. It’d be nice to see Whedon get the treatment and not the shaft for once.
