Joaquin Phoenix’s car was stolen outside of his Los Angeles home on Monday, April 28, TMZ reports.
According to law enforcement, who are now investigating the theft, Phoenix was not at his house when his 2022 Volvo SUV was stolen. Parade reported that the SUV is worth $60,000.
The outlet added that it was one of Phoenix’s employees who noticed the car was missing and contacted LAPD. Phoenix was not there but it is unknown if his wife, Rooney Mara, and their kids were home.
No arrests have been made, and the case is still ongoing.
According to The Globe and Mail, the Phoenix’s SUV is not a car that is often stolen unless targeted. In fact, “the Volvo XC90 is on the national least-stolen list” in Canada.
According to Virtual Globetrotting, Phoenix lives on Mulholland Drive in a 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom home. He purchased the home in November 2006.
In recent weeks, celebrities have been victims of swatting calls to police. Some of the stars involved have included Gordon Ramsay, Jennifer Aniston, Nicki Minaj and Chris Pine.
