Jason Kelce Reveals Huge Weight Loss Transformation: VIDEO

Former pro-football star Jason Kelce has noticeably slimmed down. In an Instagram post shared by PGA Tour on May 9, Kelce was seen briefly shirtless as he put on a polo while at the 2025 Truist Championship pro-am tournament on May 7.

“You lost a little weight,” a golfer noted. “I’m trying,” Kelce replied, adding that he was around 270 pounds at the moment. “Played at 295,” he said of his NFL weight.

In another clip, Kelce joked while taking a swing, “Heavy over the top. I don’t know if you could tell by looking at me.”

Kelce Admitted To Feeling Better After Losing Weight

Kelce’s weight loss journey began in 2024, after announcing his retirement from the NFL in March of that year.

In a June 2024 interview with GQ, the former Philadelphia Eagles center shared, “As far as the weight is concerned, I weighed 295 for the majority of my NFL career, and I look forward to losing some of those pounds.”

He continued, “I don’t want to get too small. I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size.”

Kelce revealed that his goal weight is about 250-260 lbs, as he’ll still have some heft to his frame. He told GQ that at the time, he was 277 lbs, and said, “It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you.”

“But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children,” Kelce stated.

Kelce Shared His Weight Loss Strategy

PHILADELPHIA, PA – JULY 28: Jason Kelce #62 of the Philadelphia Eagles looks on during training camp at the NovaCare Complex on July 28, 2021 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Kelce told Men’s Health in February 25 that he had to keep his weight up while playing pro football, but now that he’s retired, he’s looking forward to slimming down.

“You understand calories and diet and exercise more because you need to gain weight [for football]. You end up getting really good at knowing how to lose and gain weight, because you already had done that before,” he said of his approach.

He continued, “I can look at a plate of food and I can know if I’ve eaten more calories than I’m burning off or less, and if I’ve had the right amount of protein, or if I need more protein if I want to maintain muscle — you just get used to that process.”

Kelce also works out regularly and told the publication, “I love lifting heavy weights, so I still do that. I still squat heavy, I still bench heavy, and actually kind of tweaked my back early in my retirement deadlifting too much.”

The dad of four added, “There’s three different upper body days, there’s a chest-and-tris day, bis-and-back, and then a lower-body day. So it’s kind of a bodybuilding-type workout, which I don’t necessarily prefer. I like doing more of the total-body workouts on lifting days.”
