Just days before his passing, WWE legend Hulk Hogan was reportedly under round-the-clock medical care at his Florida home, following serious complications from neck surgery. According to TMZ, emergency medical personnel were dispatched to Hogan’s residence in Clearwater on Thursday, July 24, in response to a cardiac arrest.
The outlet noted that police and EMTs were seen outside the home as the 71-year-old was placed on a stretcher and transported by ambulance.
Jimmy Hart Reportedly Shared Hogan Was Unable to Speak
Hogan had allegedly been moved home from the hospital due to surgical complications, but his condition remained dire. According to the Daily Star, longtime manager Jimmy Hart reportedly informed others that Hogan had lost the ability to speak due to damage to his trachea.
During a conversation on The Bubba the Love Sponge Show on YouTube, co-host Lummy stated, “Hogan’s not doing well. He, he can’t speak. His trachea or whatever was damaged, and he’s having problems, and it does not look good. It does not look at all.”
Hogan Was Reportedly Kept Comfortable at Home
GettyRadio personality Bubba the Love Sponge, who had a complicated history with Hogan, claimed on his show that a hospital security officer had confirmed the wrestler was still in a hospital-style bed at home.
“They’ve gone as far as they can go at the hospital now,” Bubba said. “They’re keeping him comfortable at his house in a hospital bed. He’s not in such dire need that he needs to be in close proximity to an emergency facility. He’s stable enough to be at home.”
He added, “Rather than just be sitting here getting bed sores and muscle atrophy at Morton Plant, I can at least be home, get doctors and nurses to swing by my place to continue to check up on me.”
Private Ambulance Transfer Sparked Comparisons to Michael Jackson

Reports of Hogan’s Decline Were Dismissed Before His Death

Sadly, just weeks later, the beloved wrestler and WWE Hall of Famer passed away at age 71, leaving behind a legacy that defined an era of sports entertainment.
