Heidi Klum is living proof that love doesn’t come with an expiration date or a playbook. At 52, the supermodel, business mogul, and mother of four is not only still turning heads, but she’s also head-over-heels for her husband of five years, Tokio Hotel guitarist Tom Kaulitz.
“He’s so gorgeous,” Klum gushed in her recent People cover story. “He loves me in a miniskirt. He loves me in pumps. He just loves it when I get all dolled up.” If that’s not true love, we don’t know what it is! But the model went on to reveal that he apparently loves sitting outside the fitting room while she tries on lingerie, too. Not exactly your average date night, but it works for them, so why not? Props to them!
Heidi Klum Is Loud, Proud, & Still in Love
The couple first met at a friend’s party back in 2018. Fun fact, apparently Klum nearly skipped the event but gave herself what she called “a little kick in the butt” to go. That decision changed everything, to say the least. By February 2019, the two were married. “Meeting him was the sliding door moment of my life,” she said.
Tom, 35, didn’t just sweep her off her feet; he gave her a clean slate. Coming off two previous marriages, first to celebrity hairstylist Ric Pipino and then to singer Seal, with whom she shares three children, Klum was initially guarded. “At first I wanted to project what I had learned from different men I had been with,” she admitted. But Kaulitz stopped her cold in her tracks. “He said, ‘Don’t do this to me, because I’m not this person. I have to have a fair chance.”
A bold move for a bold woman, if you ask us.
Name Tattoos, No Regrets, & a Whole Lot of PDA
Safe to say the rest was history for these two, and these days, their spark is far from fading. The couple even has matching tattoos to prove how strong their bond is. They each have each other’s names inked on their fingers to remind them of their marriage. Klum went on to joke that hers came out better, cheekily saying, “So I’m the better tattoo artist.”
Behind closed doors, they keep things fresh with “stolen weekends,” “handwritten notes,” and, according to Klum, “a few things I can’t share.” Wink, wink!
But, she did make it admirably known that despite the criticism she might get due to their age gap, she doesn’t care. Klum is 17 years older than her husband, and yes, she couldn’t care less what people think. Because, well, it’s none of their business, you know?
“When our door closes at home, I don’t really care so much what happens around us,” she said. “I’ve learned things from my husband that I didn’t know I was capable of doing.”
‘Project Runway’ Here We Come!
Klum’s not just thriving in her personal life, but she’s also returning to “Project Runway” for Season 21. This season, she’ll join longtime collaborators Nina Garcia and Christian Siriano, with newcomer Law Roach joining the judging table. “New house, new rules. See you next week,” she said on Instagram about their return on July 31st.
Between modeling gigs, red carpets, and her kids’ careers taking off (her daughter Leni, 21, and son Henry, 19, are both modeling now), Klum is everywhere. But she’s doing it all with that signature smile and unapologetic confidence that we all adore and can’t get enough of.
“I’ve been photographing nude or in lingerie since 1992, way before Instagram,” she told People. “Now, instead of being in my little bottoms in a magazine, I’m on Instagram. It’s the same thing.”
Indeed, at 52 she’s still posting bikini pics and flaunting what she calls her “loud” personality, and she is looking better than ever. “I don’t have this age-shaming or body-shaming thing. I like to run around sexy—even now at 52.”
And when the gray hairs come? Bring it; heck, she’s even waiting for it! “Don’t we all want to get old?” Klum said. “I’m already looking at 60 and 70, hopefully 80 and 90. And if we’re still kicking it then, let’s celebrate.”
Klum is ready for it all at this point, and we love seeing her so careless and free!
