Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has nothing but love for ex-husband Chris Martin. She posted a sweet birthday message to the Coldplay frontman on her Instagram account.
Paltrow posted pictures of Martin with their daughter Apple, 20 and son Moses, 18, with the caption, “Happy Birthday to the man that gave me these beautiful, wonderful human beings, we💚you, Chris”
Martin turned 48 on Sunday, March 2.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s Relationship Through the Years
52-year-old Paltrow met Martin backstage at a Coldplay concert in 2002. They got married in December 2003. Paltrow gave birth to daughter Apple Blythe Alison Martin about five months later. The pair’s marriage lasted more than a decade before they famously announced their “conscious uncoupling” on Paltrow’s GOOP website in 2014.
The post, which has since been replaced with a page explaining “conscious uncoupling,” read, “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate.” They explained the decision saying, “We have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate. We are, however, and always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been… We have always conducted our relationship privately, and we hope that as we consciously uncouple and co-parent, we will be able to continue in the same manner.”
Their divorce became final in April 2015. But the pair have remained close, celebrating each other and even going on vacations together bringing along new significant others.
Paltrow Has More Than One Birthday to Celebrate
Paltrow married writer-producer Brad Falchuk in 2018. And it turns out his birthday is just one day before Chris Martin’s. Paltrow posted birthday wishes to her husband of seven years on Saturday, March 1st. In the post, she wrote, “Happy Birthday to the best boyfriend, husband, friend I could ever hope for. Thank you for being my keel, and the backbone of our family. I love you incredibly deeply forever.”
Chris Martin Went Along on Gwyneth and Brad’s Honeymoon
When Gwyneth Paltrow married Brad Falchuk in 2018, the actress told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest that they had a “family honeymoon” in the Maldives, bringing along their children, friends and even Paltrow’s ex-husband Chris Martin. “Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, we have questions, your ex-husband went on your honeymoon?” Kelly asked. “Yeah,” laughed Gwyneth, “pretty much.”
Coldplay Will Resume Tour in April
Martin will be doing some more traveling in the near future.
Coldplay will resume its “Music of the Spheres” world tour in April, starting in Hong Kong April 8. U.S. tour dates start May 31 in Stanford, California and go through most of the summer. All 39 of the band’s scheduled worldwide are already sold out, including a ten-night stand at London’s Wembley stadium starting August 22.
