WATCH: In Memoriam Tribute Segment – Emmys 2016

Henry Winkler presented the In Memoriam segment at tonight’s 2016 Emmys, praising his late friend Garry Marshall. Marshall’s projects included Happy Days, Pretty Woman and many other amazing movies as well as shows. Winkler spoke of Marshall’s generosity, the love he had for his family and the opportunities he gave others. Winkler went on to talk about the many the entertainment industry has lost over the past year, moving into a touching performance by music artist Tori Kelly.

Those included in the segment Jackie Collins, Anton Yelchin, Doris Roberts, Al Molinaro, Garry Shandling, Muhammad Ali, William Schallert, Merle Haggard, Alan Rickman, Fred Thompson, Abe Vigoda, Natalie Cole, David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Patty Duke, Alan Young, George Kennedy, Jon Polito, Gene Wilder, Prince, and many others.

Earlier in the night, Shandling was honored and spoken about by his friend Jeffrey Tambor, who picked up an Emmy Award tonight. Tambor stated:

It seems appropriate that we celebrate comedy, we remember a legendary stand-up, fantastic Emmys host, a great real late-night host, a great fake late-night host, a great fake late-night host who David Duchovny was sexually attracted to. He was happy with his poor vision, because he said it meant he could date anybody.
