Ellen DeGeneres Debuts Head Turning New Look After Returning to California

Ellen DeGeneres has returned to California, where she was photographed with a head-turning new look as she walked down the sidewalk.

According to E! News, which published a photo, DeGeneres was spotted in Montecito, California, after undergoing a “gray hair transformation.” DeGeneres, of course, has long been known for her signature blonde pixie cut. US Weekly also published a photo of DeGeneres’s new hairstyle. InStyle described the new look as salt-and-pepper.

DeGeneres “looked almost unrecognizable with gray hair” when she was photographed in Montecito, California, on January 14, according to E! News. According to InStyle, DeGeneres “kept her hair closely cropped to her head, with it swooping to the right in a slight bang.”

DeGeneres’s look has been changing for some time. In November, a video captured her in a pub in England sporting a darker hair color.

Ellen DeGeneres Moved to England With Her Wife Last Fall

According to People Magazine, DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi moved to England last fall. It’s not clear why DeGeneres was back in California this January.

“Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October. She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after,” a source told People at that time.

People reported that DeGeneres and de Rossi own multiple homes and sold several California residences in recent years.

“I don’t really travel a lot. So, house flipping is my version of travel,” DeGeneres said, according to People. “With house flipping, the scenery changes though I stay in the same general area. Only in a new place and from a new perspective.”

Ellen DeGeneres Previously Said She Has to Constantly Color Her Hair

DeGeneres previously opened up on her talk show about coloring her hair, according to US Weekly.

“You may notice my hair is a little bit blonder today than usual and a little bit shorter than usual,” she said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2019, US Weekly reported.

“That’s ‘cause I had my hair done over the weekend. And by the weekend, I mean the entire weekend. When you have short hair, you have to color it often because my hair grows really fast. I’m constantly coloring it. Some days it’s a different tone,” she added.
