“Duck Dynasty” is set to return to television after eight years.
The highly anticipated spinoff, “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” premieres on A&E on June 1, 2025, just days after the passing of family patriarch Phil Robertson.
Phil passed away on Sunday, May 25, after a battle with Alzheimer’s disease. His family confirmed his diagnosis in December 2024.
In the wake of Phil’s death, many fans have wondered whether the upcoming “Duck Dynasty” revival will address his passing. As it turns out, it won’t—at least for now.
‘Duck Dynasty’ Will Not Feature Phil Robertson’s Death
According to TMZ, Phil’s death will not be featured on “Duck Dynasty: The Revival.” Sources told the outlet that the cameras were not rolling at the time of his passing. Instead, the series will focus on the family as they confront Phil’s declining health following his Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
The insider added that the producers are taking their time and not rushing to incorporate Phil’s passing into the storyline, especially since the series was filmed prior to his death.
While Phil’s death won’t appear in the first season, fans will still see it acknowledged in the show. According to reports, his passing will be addressed in the second season of “Duck Dynasty: The Revival.”
What To Expect From ‘Duck Dynasty: The Revival’?
Meanwhile, Willie and Korie Robertson shared more insights about the upcoming “Duck Dynasty: The Revival.”
In an interview with TV Insider, Willie admitted that while they “weren’t actively looking to return to television,” the timing felt perfect to share the next chapter of their family’s story.
Life has changed a lot since the original show ended. Our kids are grown, we have grandkids now, and we’re all walking through exciting new seasons.
Willie added that the new show reflects where the family is today, especially with all the changes in their lives. While it still carries the same lighthearted tone fans remember, he noted that it feels “deeper in a lot of ways.”
Meanwhile, Korie teased how the family deals with Phil’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis, which will be featured in the series.
Phil’s diagnosis has been a hard reality for all of the family and for those who have felt like they’re part of our family through the show. You may see glimpses of us processing it as a family, but even in hard times we do it with laughter and a lot of gratitude.
When asked about a potential second season, Willie confirmed that production for “Duck Dynasty: The Revival” Season 2 has just begun.
