Deborra-Lee Furness has officially filed for divorce from Hugh Jackman, almost two years after they announced their amicable separation in September 2023. According to The Daily Mail, Furness, 69, submitted the divorce papers in New York, making the split legal.
Her lawyer, Elena Karabatos, also filed documents related to their settlement, health care coverage, and medical child support, PEOPLE reports. Hugh Jackman, 56, and Furness met in 1995 and married in 1996. They share two adopted children, son Oscar and daughter Ava.

The filings indicate the divorce terms are uncontested and only require a judge’s signature to be finalized.

When they announced their separation last year, Furness and Jackman said in a statement exclusively shared with PEOPLE, “We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.”

In September 2023, a source spoke to People and said that although the decision was amicable, the split was “very hard” for both parties.
“It was not a snap decision — they took a lot of time and consideration of everything, and they made this decision together,” the insider said. “They are going on separate journeys, but they will always be a family. They’ll always be co-parents and best friends.”
