Daniel Radcliffe Gets Weird (Again) with Tracy Morgan in New NBC Comedy

Daniel Radcliffe is at it again, taking on another quirky role in a brand-new comedy series. This time, he’s teaming up with the one and only Tracy Morgan. The NBC pilot, written by “30 Rock” veterans Robert Carlock and Sam Means, and executive produced by Tina Fey, is already sounding like something worth watching. If you’re a fan of Radcliffe’s unpredictable career choices and Morgan’s wild humor, this is the perfect combo.

An Odd Couple with Major Potential

According to Variety, in this series (which doesn’t have a title… yet), Morgan plays a disgraced former football star who’s trying to make a comeback. Radcliffe enters as Arthur Tobin, an award-winning documentary filmmaker who moves into Morgan’s character’s mansion to document his redemption arc. It’s the kind of odd-couple setup that could lead to some seriously funny moments, especially when you consider Morgan’s big, bold comedic style paired with Radcliffe’s more understated, dry humor.

Radcliffe has been known for making some pretty surprising career moves post-“Harry Potter,” from his role in the weirdly hilarious “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” to his Tony-winning performance in “Merrily We Roll Along.” Morgan, coming off his success with “The Last O.G.,” brings his signature, larger-than-life comedic energy. Together, they could create a duo that’s both hilarious and surprisingly heartwarming.

And let’s be real; Radcliffe has never shied away from the weird. Whether he’s playing a flatulent corpse in “Swiss Army Man” or a guy with guns bolted to his hands in “Guns Akimbo,” he’s proven that no role is too out there. This new series is just another chapter in his growing list of “What the heck is he doing now?” moments.

Reuniting the “30 Rock” Crew

One of the coolest things about this project is the powerhouse team behind it. Carlock and Means, who were key writers on “30 Rock,” are handling the pilot, with Rhys Thomas from “Documentary Now!” and “SNL” directing, per Variety. When you’ve got this level of comedic talent in the mix, you know the jokes are going to be sharp, the pacing quick, and the satire on point.

Radcliffe is no stranger to Fey’s team, having popped up in “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend,” so it’s clear he’s comfortable with their style of humor. Plus, Morgan’s larger-than-life personality is the perfect match for this kind of ensemble.

NBC is betting big on this one, and with Radcliffe always up for something new, this comedy pilot could really take off. Let’s just hope it makes it to series; because if it does, it could be something special.
