Christina Ricci’s Kids Make Rare Appearance As She Receives Star on Walk of Fame

Thirty-four years ago, Christina Ricci played Wednesday in “The Addams Family,” followed by an even more popular sequel. She embodied Wednesday so well that she became forever associated with the character. While Ricci never stopped acting, her role as slightly psychotic Misty in the thriller “Yellowjackets” led to a resurgence in popularity and Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. After four decades in the business, Ricci finally received a coveted star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame, and her kids were there to support her.

Ricci’s Daughter Stole the Spotlight

While Ricci posts photos of her kids on Instagram, it’s on her terms. It’s not often that we see them out in public. So witnessing them supporting their mom while she got her Walk of Fame star was a treat.

During her speech at the ceremony, Ricci thanked her family, including her husband, Mark Hampton, her 10-year-old son Freddie, and 3-year-old daughter Cleopatra. “Mark, you’re the most supportive and loving husband. Freddie, you made me feel so much love the day you were born and reconnected me to art and passion and ambition. And Cleo, my gorgeous little baby girl, I love you so much, and I’m inspired by all your strength and courage and spirit. She’s really spirited.”

Freddie looked dapper in jeans and a button-up sweater, while Cleo looked adorable in a black sweater, white pants, and tiny, checkered Vans. Cleo was a model participant when they took family pictures. But when it came time for round two of photos, little Cleo proved how spirited she is by running around in circles. With her mother’s encouragement, it wasn’t long before the camera began snapping her dancing and twirling on her mother’s new star to the delight of everyone watching.

Her ‘Yellowjackets’ Cast Came to Support Her

Ricci’s family weren’t the only ones in the audience cheering her on. “Thank you to my “Yellowjackets” family; so many of you are here!” Ricci said in delight. Several of her costars attended the ceremony, including Tawny Cypress, Liv Hewson, Nia Sondaya, Ashley Sutton, Sophie Thatcher, Melanie Lynskey, and Lynskey’s husband, Jason Ritter.

“Monster” and “Wonder Woman” Director Patty Jenkins was one of the speakers, praising her for her performance in “Monster. “You took the unglamorous, unlikeable role and played it with such commitment, and it’s such a stunning performance,” she said.

Dan Bucatinsky, Emmy-winning “Scandal” actor, also shared memories of a teenage Ricci living with him and his now-husband. “Christina stayed with us for a little over three months and really became like family—the Addams family, where Don and I were the monsters and she was the blonde Wednesday,” he joked. He finished by holding up a pair of Ricci’s boots that he claimed to have hung onto for 25 years. “These are mine now,” he joked.
