Celebrities Pay Tribute to Kim Porter on Day of Funeral

After passing away unexpectedly, Kim Porter was laid to rest in her hometown in Georgia on November 24th. She was 47. On the morning of the funeral, her ex-boyfriend and the father of three of her children, Sean “Diddy” Combs, paid tribute Porter on Twitter. In addition to Porter’s and Combs’ families, including Porter’s son, actor Quincy Brown, many celebrity friends of the couple were in attendance to pay their respects and mourn the loss. TMZ reported that Quincy and Diddy both spoke at the funeral, as well as Mary J. Blige and Dallas Austin. Faith Evans performed a musical tribute, as did Yolanda Adams. After the funeral service, here are some of the celebrities who paid tribute to Porter on social media:

While it has not been confirmed that Beyoncé was at the funeral, she posted photos of Porter shortly after the service’s conclusion. Kimora Lee Simmons & Russell Simmons

Kimora Lee Simmons, who US Weekly reports was Porter’s best friend, was in attendance with her husband. She posted a video to her Instagram story after the ceremony that read “We love you so much sister;” the view in the video is obstructed by tree branches, but it looks and sounds as though fireworks were set off at her resting place.

Missy Elliott

Porter’s friend Missy Elliot posted a clearer video of the fireworks on Twitter, as well as an address to Porter that “you will be missed but Your SPIRIT LIVES on!”

Usher

Usher has not directly addressed Porter’s burial, but video of his arrival at the church where her service was held confirms his attendance. He posted an Instagram tribute to his “big sister” on the day of her passing. Today, he shared a video to his Instagram story; dressed in a black turtleneck in the back of a car, he tells his followers “Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is a present, so enjoy.”
