Carnie Wilson Reveals Her ‘Beach Boys’ Dad Was Finally Laid to Rest

Carnie Wilson, daughter of the immensely talented “Beach Boys” star and cofounder Brian Wilson, took to her Instagram on Thursday, August 7, to announce her father has been buried. The musician’s June 11, 2025 death was attributed to respiratory arrest. The 82-year-old had been experiencing sepsis, chronic kidney disease, and other health ailments, per USA Today.

Carnie captioned her post, which showed an enormous flower arrangement, with the words, “Today we laid my Daddy to rest. It was incredibly difficult to see that happen, but at the same time it gave more closure and more of a feeling of restful peace.” The 57-year-old went on to reveal that she has found the two months following his death “extremely challenging,” but she feels his presence through signs. “He can hear me and he can see me,” she said.

Brian Wilson’s Daughter: ‘I’m Trying to Deal With My Emotions’

Carnie Wilson said in her post announcing Brian Wilson’s burial that she is emotional, but “grateful” for signs that point to his memory as she copes with the loss of her father. She referenced two monarch butterflies that lingered at the gravesite, calling them “comforting and beautiful.” She also said she is focusing on trying to deal with her emotions, which are “up and down.”

Carnie also revealed the “Wouldn’t It Be Nice” singer would “want everybody to be happy and not sad,” adding, “He didn’t like it when I cried.” She also said she is comforted by the thought that “the world will have his music to sing to and remember him every single solitary day until we are all gone,” a fact she was reminded of by her friend Gunnar, who lost his father, “Poor Little Fool” singer Ricky Nelson, in 1985.

Carnie Wilson Shared ‘Beach Boys’ Concert Memory

A few hours after posting the loving tribute, Carnie, who People says is the oldest of the star’s seven children, posted a shot showing herself sharing a special onstage moment with famous band.

“When I was younger, one of my favorite things in the world was to get up on the stage with The Beach Boys and sing,” she wrote in the caption.

Fans left lots of support in the comments. One said, “Such a beautiful family,” adding a heart.

Another wrote, “Thank you for sharing this picture and your memories.”

A third fan showed their appreciation for the Beach Boys, saying, “While your father was my all time musical favorite, I came to understand the importance of each band member.”
