Brad Pitt Moves Forward with Selling His Home Following Burglary

Brad Pitt has had an excellent 2025 on the professional front as his latest film, “F1: The Movie,” hit theaters in June. However, he has had personal struggles as his mother passed away, and someone broke into his Los Angeles home. Now, reports indicate that he’s moving forward with selling the house.

According to TMZ, Pitt has been planning to sell the home, which he bought for $5.5 million, since before the burglary happened. Apparently, the house is in escrow and is also part of an off-market deal. There was also considerable interest in the three-bedroom home, so things should progress quickly.

Pitt bought the home, known as “The Steel House,” from Aileen Getty in 2019 for a reported $5.5 million. Notably, she had purchased it in 2019 from James Valentine, who is a member of Maroon 5. The house dates back to 1960.

The Break-in at Pitt’s Home Happened as He was Promoting ‘F1: The Movie”

According to NBC News, the break-in at Pitt’s home occurred on June 26. Notably, this was as he was on the promotional trail for “F1: The Movie.” The report states that the robbers climbed over a fence and then broke a window to gain entry.

Once inside Pitt’s home, the intruders ransacked the property. They were able to steal various items, but as of August 12, it’s unclear what they took with them. Since then, the police have made arrests, a process that was aided by Pitt’s security system at the property. Four people were taken into custody, and they were said to be related to other area break-ins.

Other recent break-ins targeted celebrities such as Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Jennifer Aniston, Dodgers players Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Max Muncy, and Freddie Freeman, and Olivier Giroud from LFAC.

He Will Soon Begin Work on a New Film

Pitt’s “F1: The Movie” may still be in movie theaters, but he’s already been cast for a new film. According to Variety, he will star in the upcoming A24 flick “The Riders.” Edward Berger is directing “The Riders,” following the success of his previous film, “Conclave,” which arrives in theatres in 2024 and made more than $100 million. Berger also received an Oscar nomination for “Conclave.”

Production on the new movie will begin in early 2026 in various areas of Europe. The film is based on the Tim Winton novel of the same name, which was released in 1994.
