Another insider notes that the 35-year-old jewelry designer “is really close with Brad’s family as well” and “immediately reached out to send her condolences as soon as she heard the news.”
Remembering Jane Etta Pitt
Jane, a retired school counselor, raised her family in Springfield, Missouri, alongside her husband, William Pitt. She is survived by her three children—Brad, 61, Doug, and Julie—and her 14 grandchildren.
Brad’s niece, Sydney, daughter of Doug, honored her grandmother on Instagram on Aug. 6, writing that Jane had “the biggest heart” and “cared deeply for everyone and everything, no questions asked.”
Jane’s obituary, as published by People magazine, emphasized her special bond with her grandchildren through “Your Special Day”—a one-on-one tradition she created to celebrate each child’s uniqueness. Those moments, the family wrote, remain among the most cherished memories for all 14 grandchildren.
Brad Has Been Navigating Work & Personal Grief
As per photos published by The Daily Mail, at the time of his mother’s passing, Pitt was filming “The Adventures of Cliff Booth”, a Netflix project directed by David Fincher. The film is a sequel to Quentin Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood”, which earned Pitt an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor.
Sources say that despite his demanding work schedule, Pitt has made space to process his loss, with Ines by his side throughout.
