Actor Ben Affleck joked about his son Samuel wanting a pair of $6,000 sneakers.

Affleck made the comments to Access Hollywood at the SXSW festival in Texas. He revealed that Samuel wanted a pair of $6,000 Dior Air Jordan 1 sneakers.

But then Affleck said he decided Samuel would need to mow the lawn to get the shoes. Affleck has been at SXSW because he is promoting his new movie, “The Accountant 2.” He was photographed on the red carpet with his longtime friend, actor Matt Damon, at the festival.

Once Samuel discovered that he had to mow the lawn to get the shoes, he quickly lost interest in them, Affleck said in the interview.

Samuel is one of the three kids that Affleck shares with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner.

“That’s what happens when you tell a mother (expletive) they have to mow a lawn. All of a sudden, they don’t want those shoes,” Affleck joked in the interview.

Affleck also told “Access Hollywood” how he put Samuel, 13, in his place when he pushed back on getting the shoes.

“I’m like, ‘Man, you do not need $1,000 shoes,’” Affleck revealed that he told his son. “He’s like, ‘We have the money.’ I’m like, ‘I have the money, you’re broke.’”

According to Page Six, the price of the shoes rose as they became a collector’s item.

According to a video posted by Got Sole on Instagram, Affleck stood nearby while his son eyeballed the expensive sneakers.

“You like those because they’re expensive,” Affleck said to Samuel.

“No, they’re tough! I’ve always said they look good!” Samuel said.

“That’s a lot of lawns you gotta mow there,” Affleck said when he saw the price tag.

The man selling the shoes had a conversation with Samuel about the teen’s shoe size in the video. The video was captioned, “Ben Affleck might have to buy his son Dior 1’s.”

In the video, Samuel said the Air Diors were one of his two favorite sneakers. “I didn’t know what I was expecting,” Samuel said as the salesman discussed the Dior shoes with him and added, “We’ve got a lot of cool stuff.” Affleck followed the two from behind during the video.
