The “Unborn Love” singer updated fans about a shocking turn of events regarding her health when she posted a video on her Instagram Stories on July 27. In the video, she is wearing a face mask. She is also hooked up to an IV drip and is lying in a hospital bed. The text overlay on the video says “what a day.”

O’Day shared more about what was happening in the clip. “I wasn’t feeling right in my stomach, so I came to the ER,” she shares. She reveals how she thought she just had an “upset stomach” but was about to go into surgery. It is hard to hear what she is saying over the machines beeping, but she appears to say she has appendicitis.

“I don’t know anyone who has even had this,” she said. “I’m so scared y’all.” She also asked fans to send her prayers and shared her love for them.

O’Day has given no further update about her health after going into surgery, but fans will likely be waiting for her to follow up. However, fans of the musician are familiar with her honest approach, and she has shared several personal details about her life before. This includes her body image struggles and confessions about her past plastic surgery. She even appeared on the E! series “Botched Presents: Plastic Surgery Rewind.”

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 16, 2025, O’Day discussed removing her lip fillers. “I got lip fillers that were like, invading my face. And I thought they really looked good until they took ’em away and I got to see that I was trippin.’ Good God, I’m so happy those lips are off my face,” O’Day said. “I thought I was killing it, and I was not, ever was I killing it with those big, giant — when people would say ‘duck lips,’ I’d be like, ‘They’re just jealous,’ oh no, they were trying to tell me.”

She continued, “Some people aren’t haters, some people are really trying to guide you better. And I was looking in the mirror, and I thought it looked good. ‘Cause so many people in L.A. have big, fat lips that are done by doctors that just give it to you for free.”
