How refreshing it is to see unapologetic women embracing their bodies. Ashley Judd is making waves, literally and figuratively. The 57-year-old actress and activist posted a candid and joyful Instagram Reel from the Baltic Sea on Tuesday, embracing her body and her inner child with zero apologies.
“Hi, I’m Ashley, and I am a member of the ‘We don’t care club,’” she began, standing in a one-piece swimsuit while smiling at the camera.
From Cellulite to Chafing, She’s Not Hiding Anything
In the playful clip, Judd addressed everything from swimsuit chafing to cellulite with refreshing honesty.
“When I’m in my swimsuit, sometimes I get a little chafing, like right down there,” she said, pointing to her upper thighs. She shared that she uses cornstarch to help and added, “If you can see it, I don’t care.”
As she adjusted her suit, she added with a laugh, “I’m also picking my crotch, and I don’t care. I probably have cellulite, and I don’t care. And I got a hungry bum and I don’t care.” See the clip here.
Ashley Taps Into Her Inner Child (Literally)

The “Double Jeopardy” star also revealed that she’s embracing her inner child, one she called a member of the “MSU club”—or “Make stuff up club.”
“And as a postmenopausal woman, I don’t care if you don’t like the MSU club for inner children,” Judd shouted, before attempting a backflip into the water.
The video also featured Judd doing water tricks, grinning ear to ear as she declared, “We don’t care what people think of us.”
In Her Own Words: Letting Go of ‘Controlling Norms’
In the caption of her post, Judd shared a deeper message about aging, joy, and self-acceptance:
“What will I, with my freedom & mirth, when I let go of caring about stupid, controlling norms about my female body, be free to enJOY? … I bask in the unselfconscious being-ness of my True Self. My Inner Child is free to emerge. She feels confidence & glee.”
Fans & Followers Applaud Her Message

Judd’s bold video struck a chord with her followers. Comments poured in from fans who praised her honesty and humor: A comment read: “Every woman who has responded to this…let’s all be friends! We’ll plan a girls trip and have a blast!”
Another added: “I love Ashley Judd. She is just so real and accepting of other women. My harshest critics have always been female.”
A third chimed in: “Ohhh Ashley , I dream of having friends like you ! Society is so critical and judgemental , particularly toward aging and appearance. You are a joy to behold ❤️🥰👏 Please continue to share posts like this .Love you lots ❤️💯🥂”
Another reaction read: “I❤️you Ashley! You are the best! Absolutely! So over worrying about all the gazes-the male gaze, the female gaze, the mother’s/grandma’s/judgemental auntie/HOA Karen/Chad, the total stranger gaze. The only gaze that matters is OURS!”
Ashley Judd has long been a champion of women’s rights and body autonomy. In a 2018 interview with the Associated Press, she said, “The healing I’ve done has very powerfully shaped my work. It’s made me unafraid, it’s made me incredibly driven.”
