When it comes to American mockumentary sitcoms, most fans agree that “The Office” stands above the rest. Because of this, the actors from the hit NBC show hold a special place in the hearts of many. Recently, Angela Kinsey revealed the details of the cast’s group chat.
“The Office” star sat down for an interview with PEOPLE and discussed quite a bit. The topic of how the cast keeps in touch came up, and she revealed that they have a group chat called “Office Peeps.”
In discussing the chat, Angela said, “Interestingly enough, I feel like Rainn [Wilson] checks in the most, which is very sweet, and I don’t think anyone’s annoying, but the most random will be Creed [Bratton], and I think that’s very on brand.”
Angela Kinsey continued, “One time, he made a little Christmas song with a Santa hat that flopped around. You never know what you’re going to get.” She also revealed that her kids have recently started watching the show and have formed opinions about her character.
Angela said, “They started watching The Office with me, and they loved the show. They thought I was too mean to Phyllis. That was one of their biggest comments.”
Angela Kinsey Also Shared Fond Memories From Filming ‘The Office’
Angela Kinsey also spoke about some of her memories from the hit series, which ended in 2013, during her interview. She especially loved all the times the cast would film together in the conference room. As fans know, many of the show’s most iconic moments happened there.
She said, “We’re all in there for hours and hours. You go into this one tiny room with a lot of people. The room is a lot smaller than you could imagine, and we would start rolling at 7 a.m., and let’s say you’re there until 5 p.m. in that conference room. That’s when, in between scenes, everyone starts oversharing. They start doing silly bits and you start cracking up.”
Angela Kinsey went on, “It’s almost like we were camping. Once you’re in an RV with a group of people, at a certain point, you all just get a little loopy.”
The Show Is Getting a Spin-Off
As is the case with many beloved shows, “The Office” is getting a spin-off. Angela Kinsey, like most of the cast, won’t be featured on the new show, which is called “The Paper.” According to US Weekly, the show is set to premiere in September on Peacock.
Notably, Greg Daniels, who created “The Office,” is also behind the spin-off. The show will feature a new cast of characters, with the plot centered around a newspaper.
