Media personality Alix Earle is free to look for a new home for her “Hot Mess” podcast after splitting with The Unwell Network, according to a February 25 report from Variety.
The TikTok star’s popular show will no longer be anchored on “Call Her Daddy” podcaster Alex Cooper’s media platform, but unnamed sources told Variety that “the Unwell Network has renounced all rights to ‘Hot Mess’ so that Earle can freely explore future opportunities.”
Alix Earle’s Move From The Unwell Network Was Foreseen by Some Fans

The Unwell Network is a podcasting platform launched by Alex Cooper in August 2023, according to Variety. Cooper rose to fame with her irreverently raunchy style of podcasting on the popular show “Call Her Daddy,” which originated in 2018 and caught fire with Gen Z. It featured conversations around sex positivity and life advice with Cooper’s then roommate, Sofia Franklyn.
Franklyn eventually departed from the show, and the podcast’s focus turned to celebrity interviews. Alex Cooper has interviewed a star-studded list of huge names on the podcast including Simone Biles, Miley Cyrus, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The split may come as a shock to casual observers who will recall that Earle and Cooper formerly seemed super close.
The two have appeared together in public to hit the nightlife scene, and bonded during a multi-day podcasting spree in which Cooper visited Earle’s hometown before jetting back to Miami for a slumber party at the TikToker’s apartment.
However, eagle-eyed fans spotted some telltale signs that foreshadowed the split. Most notably, Earle skipped a 2025 New Orleans Superbowl party thrown by Cooper’s Unwell brand, despite being present in the city for the big game.
For weeks, rumors swirled online that the two podcasting stars were drifting apart, and Earle’s absence from the soiree seemed to strengthen the theory.

Alix Earle’s Fans Think Earle Decided to Leave the Network
Several publications, including People and E! Online, ran headlines that Earle’s show was “dropped” from Cooper’s network, which could suggest it wasn’t Earle’s choice to leave.
Variety even called the situation “a hot mess, indeed.”
However, Earle’s fans, whom she affectionately refers to as the “Earle Girls,” think this choice of words could be an attempt by Cooper’s camp to get ahead of the story and are speculating it was Earle’s decision to walk away.
One fan wrote in a Reddit discussion on the matter, “I’m going to assume she left on her own.” The observation received over 500 upvotes.
Another observer pointed out, “Alix [Earle] was just in four Superbowl commercials. I’d assume Alix dropped Unwell rather than the other way around.”
A third fan opined that, “Alix was always too big for Unwell, anyway.”
