So there it is. David Letterman stunned the world today by announcing that he’s splitting from the Late Show at 22 years there. The news was first released by former REM guitarist Mike Mills who tweeted:

The great host says that he’ll be around until 2015, at which point he and Paul Schaefer will wed. Okay then.
