Zoë Kravitz is giving fans an early review of Taylor Swift’s next studio album — and her verdict is glowing.
While promoting her new film “Caught Stealing,” Kravitz, 36, revealed that she had already heard parts of Swift’s upcoming record, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
Zoë Kravitz ‘Life of a Showgirl’ Review: ‘No Skips’
In a recent interview with Extra, Kravitz gave the album her stamp of approval, saying, “It’s fantastic, of course. No skips.” When the host noted how rare that is, Kravitz swiftly replied, “For her, it’s not.”
Swift, 35, announced the 12-track album last week during her appearance on the “New Heights” podcast, hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce. The pop star described the project as a reflection of her life during the record-breaking “Eras Tour.”
“This album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this [Eras] Tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” Swift said on the episode. “It just comes from, like, the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in, in my life. And so that effervescence has come through on this record … this is the record I’ve been wanting to make for a very long time.”
Swift also unveiled cover art on Instagram, where she posed in a rhinestone-studded showgirl look while floating in water. “And, baby, that’s show business for you. New album The Life of a Showgirl. Out October 3,” she captioned the post.
Kravitz and Swift’s Longtime Friendship
Kravitz and Swift have been friends for nearly a decade, often spotted together in New York City.
Kravitz has also collaborated with Swift musically. According to Page Six, she co-wrote the 2022 track “Karma” and provided background vocals on “Lavender Haze.” Most recently, she attended Swift’s Eras Tour stop in London.
Their friendship also extends offstage. During an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” Kravitz shared a story about staying with Swift during the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year. She revealed that her mother, actress Lisa Bonet, brought her pet snake to Swift’s home — and the reptile managed to get stuck in the bathroom wall.
“We’re ripping up the tile, we’re scratching the walls … [We] completely destroyed Taylor’s bathroom,” Kravitz recalled with a laugh.
A Highly Anticipated Release
Fans have eagerly awaited Swift’s next project following the massive success of the “Eras Tour,” which ran from March 2023 through December 2024 and became one of the highest-grossing concert tours in history, per The New York Times.
Swift has called “The Life of a Showgirl” one of her most cohesive projects yet. “This album is so focused on quality and on the theme, and everything fitting together like a perfect puzzle,” she told the Kelce brothers during the interview. “I feel like we achieved that, and I’m really happy about that.”
With Kravitz’s glowing early review and a star-studded feature from pal Sabrina Carpenter, anticipation for the October release is only growing.
