Yungblud Steals the Show at Ozzy’s Final Black Sabbath Concert [VIDEO]

Let’s be real: when you think of openers for a Black Sabbath farewell, Yungblud probably isn’t the first name that comes to mind. But at Ozzy Osbourne’s final show on July 5, 2025 he didn’t just show up; he made the entire stadium feel something.

A Soft, Emotional Gut-Punch Before The Metal Chaos

Before the metal legends took over Villa Park for their “Back to the Beginning” show, Yungblud hit the stage with a stripped-down cover of “Changes” and completely flipped the vibe. No loud guitars. No pyrotechnics. Just him, the epic sound of a piano, and 40,000 fans suddenly forgetting how to breathe.

Performing with a one-night-only supergroup (Nuno Bettencourt, Frank Bello, Adam Wakeman, and Sleep Token’s drummer) Yungblud gave a raw, emotionally loaded version of the iconic song.

But Yungblud’s performance isn’t even the craziest part. Nope, that comes from the Prince of Darkness himself. “Let the madness begin!” Ozzy screamed out, per Rolling Stone, from his custom bat throne (which we’ve seen versions of before; see below) and he rocked just as hard as he always has.

The Most Unexpected Handoff in Rock

Yungblud and Ozzy actually go back a bit. In 2022, Ozzy appeared in Yungblud’s “The Funeral” video, offering some classic uncensored advice: “Don’t censor it. Say what the f*** you want.” And that’s exactly what Yungblud did at Villa Park; except this time, he said it with a beautifully cracked voice instead of a middle finger.

This wasn’t just a cover, though. It was a passing of the torch… between two generations who’ve never been afraid to be loud, weird, and emotionally honest. Even the critics were into it: The Guardian called it “sincere” and “passionate,” saying he was “compelling a whole-stadium singalong.” And Louder Sound noted, “Yungblud might be a surprising addition … but his colossal take on Sabbath ballad ‘Changes’ sets Villa Park alight.”

Fans over on this r/blacksabbath Reddit thread were also impressed. The original poster wrote, “His cover of Changes was simply amazing and was a highlight of the concert pre-Ozzy and Black Sabbath’s performances.”

One user added, “I was honestly blown away by this performance… I can only hope enough people who like Yungblud see this and decide to check out Sabbath, then Ozzy’s solo stuff, then the rest of the bands on the bill.”

Another fan went all in, calling it “the best vocal performance of the day!”

So, sometimes, the quietest songs hit the hardest. And this one did.
