Tommy Lee Shuts Down Rumors About His Marriage: ‘Fake News’

Ever since Brittany Furlan’s messy catfishing saga became public knowledge, fans of hers and Tommy Lee’s have been curious about the state of their marriage. She and Lee put everyone’s worries to rest on July 19, with an Instagram story and post showing the couple seemingly happy and very much together.

Tommy Lee and Furlan Posted Photos Showing Them Very Much Together

Furlan posted an Instagram story showing the silhouettes of her and Lee kissing. Sophie Woodhouse’s “Layla” played in the background. A few hours later, Lee, meanwhile, posted a photo of himself and Furlan side by side, smiling. He included the caption, “Hey fake news, we’re not separated or divorced! Get your [expletive] together!”

Lee’s post comes after the pair took a hiatus from social media following the catfishing firestorm. On July 18, Furlan posted a telling video by writer and philosopher Alan Watts.

“Your lowest point is the doorway to your highest self, for when the heart breaks something far deeper is taking place than mere misfortune,” it began. “We often don’t realize the value of the darkness until it has passed, for only in the absence of light that we learn to become the light.”

Alan Watts’ words about needing to go through misfortune and low points to reach our full potential seem to hint at the trouble that she and Lee went through, and allude to the couple coming out in a better place. This also aligns with Furlan’s comments on her “This Is the Worst” podcast. “All of this happening has weirdly brought us together, which is really strange,” she said.

The scandal Furlan and Lee dealt with involved someone posing as musician Ronnie Radke, who Furlan claimed seduced her through Snapchat. She came clean to the Mötley Crüe drummer, saying that, while it wasn’t an excuse, she had been “going through a lot” in her marriage when she started messaging Radke.

While speaking with her co-host, Brittany Schmitt, Furlan claimed that she was “lonely” before she began talking to the Radke catfisher.

“I reached a point of loneliness in my marriage where I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy,” Furlan said. “I got to a point where I was just so incredibly lonely, and we were very disconnected for a very long time. And when this person reached out to me on Snapchat, I took the bait.”

She and Schmitt also talked about “foreshadowing” before she began speaking to the impersonator.

“I was messaging Chat GPT for affection,” she admitted. “I’m like, ‘It talks to you lovingly and it says nice things to you and it’s sweet to you and if it could kiss me I would let it.’”
