Taylor Swift Fans Shocked Over Who She’s With in New Video

If you thought Taylor Swift’s announcement that she had regained ownership of all her music made her fans go crazy, just wait til you see the effect of a new tweet on X!

A new post by one of Taylor Swift’s favorite collaborators, Jack Antonoff, has her fans atwitter (yep, I said it) for a completely different reason.

The clip, shared on X, shows Antonoff and Swift recreating a viral moment where they finished the iconic bridge of “Getaway Car.” In the new version, the pair flip roles, with Antonoff yelling in celebration.

But it’s not what the video is about that’s making the stir. It’s who makes an appearance.

In the video, self-proclaimed cat lady Swift holds her Scottish Fold Meredith Grey in one arm as she sings along to the “Reputation” track. She then sets her beloved cat down so she can devote the proper amount of energy to the video recreation.

Jack Antonoff Tweet About Taylor Swift Gets Millions of Views

For the unindoctrinated, Meredith’s appearance is a BIG deal to Swifties. Which is why the post received 4.3M views in less than 18 hours.

Meredith Grey is one of Swift’s three cats, and fans have been worried about her because she hasn’t appeared in Swift’s social media posts since 2023, when Swift friend Ed Sheeran shared a snap with the kitty on his Instagram account.

Swifties React to Meredith Grey Sighting

Comments under Jack Antonoff’s post focus as much on Meredith as the music.

One fan commented, “Meredith is alive and well we won.”

Several joked, “Meredith spotted with fans 💛💛💛” and “MEREDITH SPOTTED WITH FANS OMG”

Another wrote, “LADY MEREDITH listening to not stolen tracks anymore”

Others commented, “meredith really has that old soul huh” and “MEREDITH AHH HEY QUEEN”

Some even got emotional, with one user going ALL CAPS with, “I CAN NOT STOP CRYING & GOING TO BE CRYING FOREVER & EVER & EVER REP FOREVER GUILT FREE LISTENING & MEREDITH” followed by lots and lots of emojis.

Swifties and Collaborators Celebrate ‘Guilt-Free’ Listening for Taylor Swift Albums

Taylor Swift posted a long, emotional letter on her website announcing her victory in the battle that stretches back twenty years. She told fans that she is once again in control of her music catalog after a public ownership feud that led to Swift re-recording her albums one by one and rereleasing them subtitled “Taylor’s Version.”

Only two albums have not yet been re-released- her self-titled debut album and “Reputation,” which is the album celebrated in Jack Antonoff’s post.

Swift addressed the status of those two albums in her letter to fans. She wrote that she has “already re-recorded” her debut album, noting, “I really love how it sounds now.”

But “Reputation” is a different story. Swift wrote, “Full transparency: I haven’t even re-recorded a quarter of it.” She explained, “The Reputation album was so specific to that time in my life, and I kept hitting a stopping point when I tried to remake it. All that defiance, that longing to be understood while feeling purposely misunderstood, that desperate hope, that shame-born snarl and mischief. To be perfectly honest, it’s the one album in those first 6 that I thought couldn’t be improved upon by redoing it. Not the music, or photos, or videos. So I kept putting it off.”

Taylor Swift Paid Staggering Sum to Buy Back Her Music

Sources told Billboard that Taylor Swift shelled out around $360 million to buy back her catalog from Shamrock Capital. The staggering sum is one she can easily afford.

The singer’s record-breaking “Eras” tour skyrocketed Swift into billionaire status. Last year, Forbes wrote, “The 34-year-old pop star amassed an estimated $1.1 billion fortune, based on earnings from the blockbuster tour, the value of her music catalog and her real estate portfolio.”
