You know your album is great if Taylor Swift breaks her 100-day Instagram hiatus to let the world know just how much she loves it!
On March 21, 2025, Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, who are engaged to get married, released their joint album titled, “I Said I Love You First.” The next day, Swift took to Instagram to give her stamp of approval — marking her first post since Dec. 11, 2024, a few days after her epic Eras Tour concluded after 149 shows.
“@selenagomez & @itsbennyblanco I LOVE THIS ALBUM SO MUCH. OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDD,” Swift’s Instagram Stories read, according to People. She also shared a link to “I Said I Love You First” for fans to stream.
Benny Blanco Said Selena Gomez Made Him A ‘True Swiftie’
To promote their “I Said I Love You First” album, the couple appeared on the March 20 episode of “Hot Ones,” where Blanco shared that his fiancée turned him on to Swift’s music. Gomez and Swift have been besties for over a decade.
“I honestly didn’t know … before we started dating like obviously, I was aware of like Taylor Swift’s music but I wasn’t like a true Swiftie until I was with [Gomez] — no, I didn’t know,” Blanco told “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans.
He added, “And now I’ll be like, ‘Put that song on. How’s that one go again?’ And like we’re in the car, and I’m like, ‘Wow I’m just, like, singing Taylor Swift songs from like 10 years ago, and [I] feel free.'”
Selena Gomez And Benny Blanco’s ‘I Said I Love You First’ Album Captures Their Love Story
Gomez and Blanco announced their engagement on on Dec. 11, 2024, but they met each nearly 10 years prior when Blanco worked on Gomez’s 2015 “Revival” album. Even though they’ve collaborated several times over the years, including Gomez’s song “Single Soon” from 2023, “I Said I Love You First” marks the first album they’ve put out together.
“This album came together organically as a direct result of the comfort that they both felt when working together creatively, allowing them to produce art that authentically reflects their experiences,” a previous press release read, per People.
The statement continued, “It chronicles their entire story — before they met, falling in love and looking to what the future holds.”
On February 20, 2025, “Call Me When You Break Up” was released as the LP’s first official single, which features folk-pop artist Gracie Abrams. The 14-track project also includes guest appearances from J Balvin and GloRilla.
