Taylor Swift Celebrates With Pal Jack Antonoff After Buying Masters

Musician Jack Antonoff shared a glimpse of how Taylor Swift celebrated after purchasing the rights to her first six albums.

Antonoff took to X Friday night and shared a video of the two singing along to “Getaway Car,” which was a track featured on Swift’s 2017 “Reputation” album.

“Put the money in a bag and I stole the keys,” Swift can be seen singing as she holds her adorable cat Meredith. She then proceeded to shout, “That was the last time you ever saw me,” as the tune played.

Along with the 14-second video, the Bleachers singer wrote, “rep forever guilt free listening!”

The Two Have Been Friends for Years

Swift and Antonoff friendship began in 2012. Even since, the two have collaborated extensively with albums including “Lover,” “folklore,” “evermore,” “Midnights,” “The Tortured Poets Department” and Swift’s re-recorded albums dubbed “Taylor’s Version.”

The “Blank Space” singer gushed about her friend to The New York Times in May 2017.

“Sometimes, he sits at the piano and we both just start ad-libbing and the song seems to create itself,” she told the outlet. “His excitement and exuberance about writing songs is contagious. He’s an absolute joy. That’s why everyone loves him. I personally wouldn’t trust someone who didn’t.”

Swift Pens Letter in Response to Owning Her Music

The “Love Story” singer penned a lengthy, heartfelt letter to her website on May 30 when she revealed she was now the owner after years of trying to purchase her music.

Swift was able to buy her catalog from Shamrock Capital years after Scooter Braun sold it to the company.

“I’m trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow,” she began. “A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and pined away for a chance to get to tell you this news. “All the times I was thiiiiiiiiiiiiis close , reaching out for it, only for it to fall through.”

She added that she almost gave up hope over the years she tried to buy it.

“I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled then yanked away. But that’s all in the past now,” Swift continued. ”I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs… to me.”
