Tate McRae is known for her catchy tracks and impeccable performances. Despite the pop singer topping Billboard’s Hot Dance/Pop Songs chart for the week of June 14, with her latest track, “Just Keep Watching”, the singer has moments where she gets nervous.
The “Revolving door” singer stopped by KISS FM, a British digital radio station, and gave fans insight on filming the music video for her track “Sports car”.
When asked if she feels stressed when her parents watch her in her performance mode, McRae shared she does.
“Yes,” she said, “because my mom was my dance teacher, and that’s stressful.”
Tate shared her parents get nervous for her, which then leads to her getting nervous. She went on to detail a moment in her career where she felt a little nervous with her mom watching her perform.
“Honestly, on the ‘Sports car’ music video set,” said McRae, “she [McRae’s mom] was on the set, and it’s not even like the music video was that sexual. I just remember because the lyrics were so forward, and my mom was in the room, like I felt like I was committing a crime.”
Fans took to the comments section to share their support for the pop singer.
“She’s just the whole package, talent, personality, presence, beauty and elegance, eloquent and just a girl next door aura 😍,” one fan shared.
Another fan noted the special relationship between the artist and her parents.
“I love that Tate has such supportive parents that are always there for her! & I love that her mom is with her on sets, concerts or whatever! I hope Tate always keeps a good relationship with her parents & hope she keeps them close❤️,” another fan commented.
