Fuschia Kate Sumner, the second child of 17-time Grammy winner Sting, got married in Sicily the weekend of July 12, 2025. Sumner, who goes by her middle name, romantically tied the knot with her boyfriend Max Wright in a series of festivities that lasted several days, per the Daily Mail. The outlet says Wright is a creative director in the arts and tech space.
Three weeks prior to the nuptials, Sumner posted an Instagram snap celebrating her “hen do,” which is the U.K. equivalent to a bachelorette party, and excitedly wrote in the caption, “Not long now. Thank you to my magnificent London hens for giving me the perfect night.”
Music was supplied by Philip Lassiter, who wrote on Instagram July 13, “Yesterday I had the honor of playing Sting’s daughter’s wedding in Sicily with my 10 piece band. He gave Lovano a shoutout, thanking him “for the referral.”
Fuschia Kate Sumner & New Husband Share One Child
Sumner, 43, shares a one-year-old son with her groom, Max Wright. The tot was adorably featured at the wedding, catching a ride in his mother’s arms for several sweet moments. One such moment can be seen in a video clip shared by Sumner’s pal Vanessa Breuer.
In an August 30, 2024 post to her Instagram stories, Sumner revealed she gave birth to her son at a birth center, writing the locale gave her “all the benefits of a home birth with the safety bubble of a fully equipped hospital just outside the door.” She also said she was “forever grateful to have this option available on the NHS.”
Guests Captured Stunning Photos of the Wedding Gown
Sumner’s sister Mickey posted a series of stunning shots that showed off the bride’s gorgeous gown. Sumner replied to the post by telling Mickey, “I love you so much!” before declaring her sister’s wedding speech the “best ever.”
Drummer Elmo Lovano also commented, calling the celebration the “best weekend ever.” He also revealed the bride threw her bouquet straight at him.
Actress Rosanna Arquette sent well wishes, writing under the photo, “Oh Kate. Love love love to you I’m so happy for you and send you big hug and congratulations.”
The designer of Sumner’s gown for the main ceremony is not known, but the Daily Mail says she wore a lace mermaid-style Valentino dress for a traditional street party featuring an Italian marching band on day one of the festivities.
