Stevie Nicks has announced the rescheduling of her upcoming concert dates after sustaining a fractured shoulder that requires ample healing time.
The 77-year-old Fleetwood Mac icon shared the news through her official social media channels, reassuring supporters that while she needs to move some shows, some of her tour dates will proceed as originally scheduled. The injury affects her August and September schedule, but the rock legend is already looking ahead to her return to the stage.
Nicks’ Recovery Plans & Rescheduled Shows
The announcement came via Nicks’ Instagram account, where she addressed fans directly about the necessary changes to her tour itinerary. “Due to a recent injury resulting in a fractured shoulder that will require recovery time, Stevie Nicks’ scheduled concerts in August and September will be rescheduled,” the statement explained. “Please note that October dates will be unaffected.”
Nicks and her team carefully planned the rescheduled performances to accommodate ticket holders from the original dates.”Stevie looks forward to seeing everyone soon and apologizes to the fans for this inconvenience,” the post continued, as reported by Variety. All previously purchased tickets will remain valid for the newly announced performances, allowing fans to keep their opportunity to see the legendary performer.
Tour organizers strategically moved the originally planned nine dates across August and September, including performances at prestigious venues like Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and Boston’s TD Garden, to late October through mid-December.
The rescheduled dates will begin October 28 in Detroit and continue through December with shows in Saint Paul, Toronto, Brooklyn, Boston, Cincinnati, Columbia, Tampa, and Hollywood, Florida.
Strong Commitment to Performance
Nick’s message noted that the concert schedule will resume as planned on October 1st in Portland, Oregon, at the MODA Center, followed by previously scheduled performances in Sacramento, Phoenix, Las Vegas, Oklahoma City, Atlantic City, Charlotte, and Hartford.
The rock icon has consistently demonstrated her passion for live performance throughout her career. In a 2024 interview with Rolling Stone, she expressed her deep connection to touring, saying, “What I wanted to do my whole life was affect people. I love telling my stories onstage. That is what makes me happy, and that’s why I’ll never stop touring.”
Her commitment extends beyond just the music itself. “Because if I stop touring, then I’ll stop dancing,” she shared.
Fan response to the announcement was overwhelmingly supportive, with many expressing relief that the postponement was temporary. Some also sent healing wishes through social media comments.
This temporary pause in her schedule coincides with exciting news for Nicks fans, as she and Lindsey Buckingham will rerelease their legendary album “Buckingham Nicks” on September 19. This will mark its return to all formats after being out of print since the early 1980s.
