Nicki Minaj Stands Up for Herself in Numerous Tweets & Fans Are Loving It

Social media has become a battlefield lately, and Nicki Minaj is leading the charge. The Queen of Rap has been on a tear, using her platform to air out grievances, settle old scores, and remind everyone exactly who she is. She’s not holding back, and she’s dragging everyone from hip-hop royalty to her biggest rivals into the spotlight.

It all seemed to kick into high gear when a judge denied Megan Thee Stallion and Roc Nation’s attempt to dismiss a lawsuit from a former cameraman. Nicki took to social media with a cryptic, bible-laced post that many fans saw as a direct shot at Megan. “What was the name of that law again????????? Karma’s Law? Touch not my anointed law? Vengeance is the Lord’s law?” she wrote. Given that the two have been at odds since their “Hiss” and “Big Foot” exchange, it’s clear there’s no love lost.

“Where’s My Money, Hov?”

Next on Nicki’s list was none other than Jay-Z. She turned up the heat by accusing the billionaire mogul of shortchanging her when he sold the streaming platform Tidal. Nicki claims she was promised equity that mysteriously vanished after the sale, and she’s not being quiet about the nine-figure sum she believes she’s owed. “We’ve calculated about 100-200MM so far. #JayZ call me to settle this karmic debt,” she wrote on X.

Her posts have sparked a larger conversation about artists’ equity, and her devoted fan base, known as the Barbz, has rallied behind her. Many supporters have praised her online for demanding accountability. “This is why we ride for her! She’s not afraid to demand what she’s owed. A true Queen!” one fan account posted.

In a direct message to Jay-Z and Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez, she laid it all out. “Dear #JayZ & Desirat, You ruined hiphop, You ruined football, You ruined basketball, You ruined touring, You ruined instagram, You ruined Twitter. The jig is up,” she posted.

Nicki also took aim at Roc Nation’s leadership, siding with Perez’s daughter, Demoree Hadley, who has filed a lawsuit against her mother. The rapper has made it clear she believes there’s a campaign to undermine her, and she’s using her platform to fight back.

Don’t Come For Her Pockets

With all the callouts, some critics suggested Nicki’s motives were financial. She shut that down quickly and unapologetically. “Buying another Mansion as we speak. It would be the 3rd in 2 years,” she wrote on X. “That’s besides the property I bought for others for 15 years. Catch up ugly.” She also mentioned buying a pink private jet, adding that “Entry is for fly Barbz only.”

Her fanbase celebrated the unapologetic display of wealth as a powerful clapback. Social media lit up with supportive comments, with one fan writing, “This is the most hood rich thing I’ve ever seen, I love it,.” Others echoed the sentiment, with another post reading, “She’s not just talking it, she’s living it. That’s how you silence the haters.”

When fans speculated that she was going after Jay-Z because she was broke, she clapped back with the ultimate flex. “if tmrw I wake up & want maybe 20-30MM, all I have to do is hand in my album silly wabbit,” she posted. “Then I’d tour again & gross over a hunnit. Do you realize this is Nicki Minaj?”

This same energy applies to her standing in the industry. During a Stationhead livestream, Nicki revealed she was invited to join the Recording Academy’s board in 2023 but declined. “My integrity couldn’t allow me to sit on the board of something that made absolutely no sense to me and to anyone that understands,” she explained. “Why would I be sitting on the board if I don’t have a Grammy?”
