The New Kids on the Block just wrapped the first block of their Las Vegas residency, and they’re already talking about round two!
Brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight, Joey McIntyre, Donnie Wahlberg and Danny Wood just completed the first eight shows ever of “New Kids On the Block: The Right Stuff Las Vegas Residency“ at the Park MGM.
In an Instagram post, NKOTB put up a series of pictures from their first-ever Vegas residency, writing, “That’s a wrap on the first 8 shows of #TheRightStuff. It went by in a flash. Thank you Blockheads for making it an epic 3 weeks! We’ll see you back at @parkmgm in November! 🤖❤️”
First Three Weeks of Residency Were Full of Surprises
A quick check of the NKOTB Instagram account shows that the first three weeks of the New Kids on the Block residency were full of surprises for die-hard fans, better known as “Blockheads.”
Several pairs of fans (decked out in retro New Kids gear) singing from the nosebleeds got the upgrade of a lifetime when they were handed tickets to sit right at the stage.
One mother-daughter duo got the upgrade, with the video showing the mom even getting a high five from New Kid Donnie Wahlberg. The daughter is heard saying, “I’m so happy that my mom got to live out her 12-year-old dreams and see them so close.”
Another video shows the NKOTB mascot “Block-E” handing fans VIP Barstool upgrades that put them right at the band’s feet.
‘New Kids on the Block’ Celebrate 36 Years of ‘Hangin’ Tough’
The first leg of the New Kids on the Block residency just so happened to coincide with the 36th anniversary of the release of the band’s hit single “Hangin’ Tough.”
So of course the Kids celebrated the milestone on stage. An Instagram video shows a packed theater with the crowd waving along to the choreography during the song.
One fan commented on that very thing, saying, “One of my favorite things to do at the concert is look around the whole stadium to see all the BH waving their arms to Hangin’ Tough. It’s an experience! ❤️❤️”
Back Street Boys Crash the NKOTB Stage
Fans at one of the band’s eight performance got an extra dose of boy band fun when members of the Back Street Boys crashed the stage.
NKOTB posted a video on Instagram showing BSB members Howie Dorough and AJ McLean on stage with the group. The caption reads, “A mini #NKOTBSB reunion at last nights show! Shout out to @AJ_Mclean and @Howie_Dorough! 🤖♥️”
NKOTBSB refers to the supergroup formed by the two bands in 2010.
The Backstreet Boys will start their “Millenium 2.0” residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas on July 11. They’re already in town for rehearsals.
The New Kids on the Block will return to Las Vegas for the second leg of their residency November 1-15. They’ll circle back a third time February 14-26, 2026.
