Mick Jagger Engaged (Again) – but Is Marriage the Next Step?

Mick Jagger proves he has the moves yet again by getting engaged for the third time.

This time, it’s with his longtime girlfriend Melanie Hamrick.

Jagger and Hamrick, who is a retired ballerina, have been together since 2014. Hamrick recently confirmed as much during an interview with Paris Match (via People).

In fact, the couple has been engaged for two years Hamrick casually mentions. But marriage is not in the cards at the moment.

“Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything,” Hamrick said in translation.

People also mentions that the former ballerina was previously given a promise ring by the rocker that may have been an engagement ring in 2023.

Hamrick also told People in 2019 that collaboration with Jagger is something she wants to do sparingly.

“We are in such similar careers, to keep it separate is better. You’re working with the person all day, and then you’re with them at night,” Hamrick said. “It’s like, too much of each other. And then it’s nice to have outside opinions, someone that isn’t in it with you. They can give you really solid advice. So I prefer the separation from work.”

Jagger’s Love Timeline

Jagger has been in a number of public relationships. Notably, the star was married twice previously. 

From 1971 to 1978, he was with social activist Bianca Perez-Mora Macias. The two met at a Rolling Stones concert after party in France in 1970. They married while Macias was four months pregnant with Jade Sheena Jezebel Jagger.

After splitting with Macias in 1978, Jagger started a relationship with model Jerry Hall that lasted until 1999. The two split in 1982 due to Jagger saying he wasn’t ready for marriage. However, in 1984, the couple reconnected and had two children – Elizabeth Scarlett and James Leroy. 1990 saw Jagger and Hall wed in a Bali, Indonesia, complete with a traditional Balinese Hindu ceremony. Later in the decade, the wedding would be found not legally binding. Afterwards, in 1992, Hall gave birth to another child, Georgia May. After several years of a tumultuous relationship, the couple had their final child together in Gabriel Luke Beauregard.

Jagger’s other relationships include models Carla Bruni, Luciana Gimenez, and L’Wren Scott before the musician met Hamrick.

Perhaps Jagger’s most well known relationship is with Rolling Stones member Keith Richards. Although their partnership is one of the most prolific in music, it’s been as rocky as any romance Jagger has been a part of in his life.
