Coldplay is one of the most popular bands of all time. However, the group has been in the news quite a bit over the last few weeks thanks to the now-infamous kiss cam at their concerts. Now, soccer legend Lionel Messi has been playfully caught on a Coldplay kiss cam with his wife.
According to TMZ, Lionel Messi attended the Coldplay concert on July 27 at Hard Rock Stadium. Their three kids were also with them at the concert. In the video below, Lionel and his wife can be seen on the kiss cam, waving shyly to the audience.
As it progresses, fans can be heard chanting “Messi, Messi, Messi.” From there, Chris Martin, the lead singer of Coldplay, sings, “Lionel, my beautiful brother. You and your wife are looking so fine. Thanks for coming today to see our band play, the number one sports person of all time.”
Lionel Messi also posted on his official Instagram about the Coldplay concert. The post contained three images, two with him and his wife and one that included their three young children. He captioned the post, “Coldplay.” Many people in the comments joked about the infamous Coldplay Kiss cam.
Lionel Is One of Several Celebrities How Have Been Playfully Caught on the Coldplay Kiss Cam
The members of Coldplay are currently embarking on the “Music of the Spheres” world tour. The tour began in March 2022 and is scheduled to run until September 8 of this year. Regarding the Coldplay kiss cam, it made news on July 16 after a CEO was caught with a woman who was not his wife.
Since then, the company has released a statement on the matter, and according to Rolling Stone, both individuals have stepped down from their positions. Notably, the woman in the Coldplay kiss cam video was the head of human resources for the show.
Naturally, this is why Lionel Messi being playfully caught on camera was so humorous for people. There have also been several memes online recreating the original moment.

As Christ Martin said in the video from the concert, Lionel Messi is one of the greats. According to Sports Illustrated, Lionel made his professional soccer debut in 2004 as a part of Barcelona’s C and B teams.
He’s still very much active in the sport and is currently 38. Lionel has been married to Antonela Roccuzzo, his childhood sweetheart, since 2017.
