Lady Gaga Handles Mic Malfunction Like a Pro at Coachella

Lady Gaga headlined Coachella 2025 for her second weekend on April 18, where she encountered some technical difficulties.

While performing the hit song “Abracadabra” from her album “Mayhem,” Lady Gaga’s mic kept going in and out, as shared by the X fan page Gaga Crave.

Ever the professional, the pop star kept singing, and as she descended from the platform, she quickly changed to a handheld mic.

“Queen behavior!! Handled so fast it was barely noticeable,” a fan commented. Another noted, “Also props to her team for being READY with that hand mic.”

Later on during Lady Gaga’s two-hour Coachella set, she apologized to fans for the minor blip. In a video shared by The King Gaga, the “Poker Face” singer is seen telling the crowd, “I’m sorry, my mic was broken for a second.”

“At least you know I sing live,” she laughed. Lady Gaga continued, “And I guess all I can do is my best, right? I’m definitely giving you my best tonight. I love you so much.”

A fan wrote, “This mishap only made [the] show 100 times better. She pushed through, danced harder, sang harder, the grit in her voice and the breaths from the mic made it super authentic. I had a feeling she would address it once she had a minute to sit at the piano. Bravo so humbling. Love you gaga.”

Another shared, “To acknowledge the mic mishap goes to show how professional and humbled she is. I love that we get to see the pure raw breaths in the mic as she’s giving it all on that stage by never missing a beat. Love you gaga best show ever.”

Lady Gaga Revealed Why She Will Never Lip Sync

Back in 2014, Lady Gaga told Angie Martinez in an interview for Extra, “I don’t think it’s cool to lip sync.”

She stated, “I’m not judging if people do, because it’s everybody’s own style of what they decided, the type of artist they will be. But I think if you pay money for a ticket to see a show, that the artist should [expletive] have some pipes and sing their records for you.”

In 2020, Deadline reported that leading up to the 2020 Super Bowl, which had Shakira and Jennifer Lopez slated to perform, Lady Gaga told the crowd during a performance, “I better hear no lip-syncing tomorrow!”

The “Born This Way” singer added, “I wish so much love and so much luck to everyone that’s doing the halftime show, to both the teams that are playing each other in the Super Bowl. They’re all champions.”
