Fans of Lady Gaga’s latest album, “Mayhem,” better expect her to bring the noise as she heads out on tour later this year.
The album is a return to the album space in five years. And it might also mark the singer’s return to Australia in over a decade. Lady Gaga hinted as much during her interview on The Fox’s Australian radio show “Fifi, Fev & Nick.”
Nothing is Formally Announced…Yet
Although she said nothing was available to be spoken about yet, Gaga did insist she has love for that part of the world: “I miss my fans there so much, I really do. I have such fond memories of being in Australia, it’s a beautiful place and I really do want to come back soon.”
Australia seems to love Gaga and what she brings to the country. In 2011, she was awarded honorary citizenship in Sydney from Lord Mayor Clover Moore thanks to her support of the LGBTQI+ community.
On the occasion, Mayor Moore noted the singer’s resilience to commitment to the community: “Lady Gaga has been a powerful force for the gay and lesbian community in Sydney and we have a rare honour for people whose achievements embrace the ideals and spirit of our city.”
Recent Tours have been Less Expansive
Gaga ultimately performed six dates in Oceania, from August 20 to August 31 2014, during her “ArtRave: The Artpop Ball” tour for the 2013 album “Artpop.” Stops there included Perth, Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney. Her opening act for all nights was Lady Starlight.
Her last tour — 2022’s “The Chromatica Ball,” which celebrated her 2020 album “Chromatica” — was conceived as a limited engagement following the COVID-19 pandemic. While Gaga did go overseas for the tour, she only performed once in most locations. As for the United States dates, they were downsized as well.
In between albums, Gaga performed small, limited engagement tour shows with Tony Bennett for their joint album; a dive bar series; and not to mention a residency in Las Vegas, Nevada dubbed “Enigma + Jazz & Piano” that focused on split performances in either pop or piano ranges.
“Mayhem” in Lady Gaga’s Life
Gaga appeared on the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live” where she held duties as host and performer. Fans raved about her abilities on stage musically as well as comedically.
Gaga has also been going on the record about her relationship with her fiance Micahel Polansky, including the unique way he proposed. The two also plan to have a small wedding.
