From Diddy Trial to ‘I Do’: Kid Cudi Marries After High-Profile Testimony

Just weeks after testifying in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ high-profile trial, Kid Cudi is stepping into a new chapter — celebrating his marriage to fashion designer Lola Abecassis Sartore in the South of France.

The couple tied the knot on June 28 at Cap Estel in Èze, a private, oceanfront venue that featured scenic views, personal touches and tributes to the late Virgil Abloh — the same designer whose 2018 Louis Vuitton show first brought them together, according to People.

Their wedding follows what has been an especially personal year for the rapper. In early 2025, Cudi testified in Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking trial, revealing that his Porsche was once set on fire with a Molotov cocktail after his brief relationship with Cassie Ventura. Just months later, Cudi began this new chapter with Sartore by his side.

The “Pursuit of Happiness” artist also took to Instagram to share moments from the big day, calling Sartore his “ride or die” and writing, “Man, I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life… Here’s to a bright future together, Mrs. Mescudi.”

From Japan to France:Inside Cudi’s Full-Circle Wedding Journey

Cudi proposed to Sartore during a December 2023 trip to Kyoto, Japan. Reportedly, the couple later announced their engagement in April 2024 with separate Instagram posts marking both their relationship debut and the big news. “Life became crystal clear with Lola,” Cudi wrote at the time.

In an interview with Vogue, Sartore described the wedding day as “the most perfect, flawless, peaceful day” and shared that she and Cudi were “on cloud nine” throughout the weekend.

The event took place just steps from the ocean, with vows exchanged in the garden followed by cocktail hour by the pool, dinner on the lawn and an after-party inside the villa. There, Cudi performed two unreleased songs from his upcoming album — a project he says was inspired by their love story.

Sartore wore a custom Paris-made gown crafted from six different laces, designed by her close friend and “bridesman,” Alain Paul. Meanwhile, Cudi collaborated with Saint Laurent’s Anthony Vaccarello to create three separate looks for the occasion, including a double-breasted black suit for the ceremony and a crystal-embellished top for the after-party.

Who Is Lola Abecassis Sartore?

Now head of design at fashion house ERL, Sartore is a Paris-based menswear designer who studied at Atelier Chardon Savard and previously worked under Virgil Abloh and Pharrell Williams at Louis Vuitton. In a 2024 interview, she credited her upbringing around fashion for fueling her creative path.

The couple kept their romance relatively private before going public in spring 2024. Sartore has supported Cudi through both personal and professional milestones — including his recovery from a 2024 Coachella injury — and has been the inspiration behind his next album, “FREE”, which he says is “damn-near dedicated” to her.

Cudi has one daughter, Vada, from a previous relationship and has openly spoken about wanting marriage and more children. In his wedding post, he joked about what’s next: “Next we need this baby… not joking.”
