On Wednesday, July 30, the procession began at 1 p.m. local time, but fans gathered hours earlier along Broad Street, particularly near the Black Sabbath Bridge. The streets were packed with grieving fans and well-wishers, many holding floral tributes or donning Osbourne-themed attire.

As the hearse made its way through the city with a police escort, Birmingham-based brass band Bostin’ Brass performed a moving rendition of “Crazy Train,” honoring the heavy metal legend with one of his most iconic hits.

Later in the day, Ozzy Osbourne was laid to rest during a private ceremony attended only by his closest family members. The legendary rocker passed away on July 22 at the age of 76, with his loved ones by his side. “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” his family shared in a heartfelt statement, noting he was “surrounded by love” in his final moments.
