When the Osbourne family announced to the world that Ozzy Osbourne had died on July 22, everyone who knew the Rock God or Black Sabbath expressed how much he meant to them. Elton John called Ozzy a ‘Trailblazer,’ while Donny Osmond referred to him as his ‘Brother.’ The 76-year-old rock legend had touched more people than anyone could have imagined.
Juliette Lewis’s music has always been as much a part of her life as her acting, and she has played at many festivals and shows. A longtime fan of Ozzy and Black Sabbath, she has previously shared their music on social media. After his death was reported, she took to Instagram and posted a heartfelt message to the late singer.
Juliette Lewis Shared Ozzy Osbourne’s Powerful Version of ‘Changes’
“Thank you for sharing your Gift with us Ozzy,” Lewis wrote on Instagram. “It changed Us. We love you.” She included a prayer emoji, and reshared a post by Voceux. Listening to Ozzy sing the raw, acoustic-only version of “Changes” in a studio is compelling.
Two hours earlier, Lewis had reshared a different post by Sierra Swan. It featured a very young Ozzy wearing headphones and reading music, staring stoically at the camera.
“Thank you for handing us your heart every single time you stepped on that stage,” it read. “There will never be another like you. I read somewhere this was your favorite song. Rest In Peace Ozzy.”
Ozzy’s Final Show Was a Farewell to His Fans
Over the past few years, Ozzy Osbourne’s health problems had been getting worse. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, a spinal injury, and other issues, he was forced to cancel shows. Despite this, he appeared in Birmingham in August 2022 to close out the Commonwealth Games. He and members of Black Sabbath performed their song “Paranoid” to the delight of the crowd.
Ozzy’s last show was on July 5 at Villa Park Stadium in Birmingham, England. Dubbed “Back to the Beginning,” fans flocked to see the legend perform his final concert while, appropriately, seated on a throne. It was the first time in almost 20 years that the original members had performed together. Despite his seated performance, Ozzy sang his heart out to the crowd, sounding every bit the Ozzy everyone remembered.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he told the crowd. “I love you, we love you,” before launching into “Mama, I’m Coming Home.”
