Jordan Davis Announces New Tour: ‘It Feels Like There’s Always New Places to Play’

Country music fans better get ready for Jordan Davis’ upcoming tour because, “Next Thing You Know,” it’ll be here.

The “Bar None” singer took to Billboard to announce the tour called the “Ain’t Enough Road Tour” that’s set to start up on September 11 in Greater Palm Springs California.

Other stops will include Albuquerque, New Mexico; Lincoln, Nebraska; and Duluth, Georgia. The singer will also appear in some of the most popular venues around including the Greek Theater in Los Angeles; Radio City Music Hall in New York; and MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston.

Wiping the Slate Clean

Davis indicates the most pressure that he feels as a touring artist is the start of a new round of dates, referring to the situation as a “blank slate.”

However, he celebrates his fans that have been with him from the start. He wants to make the shows special for everyone who listens to his music.

“When I think of a new tour, that’s who I immediately go to, the day one fans. It’s like, ‘How do I do something that they haven’t seen?’” Davis adds. “If I can do something that feels new and feels cool to a fan that’s been there from day one, I think I’m going to cover the wide range of fans we’ve picked up along the way.”

Davis recently released the single “Bar None,” which follows another recent single “I Ain’t Sayin’” that hit #1 on the charts.

Finding the Lyrics

The Shreveport, Louisiana native will be joined by Mitchell Tenpenny – best known for the song “Truth About You” as well as an appearance on the Kane Brown song “Says I Can (The High Road Tour Version).” Davis and Tenpenny reunite after the latter opened for the former during the “Damn Good Time Would Tour” in 2024. “Wish You Well” singer Vincent Mason will also join the show.

Davis stopped by “CBS Mornings Plus” to speak about the new tour with Tony Dokoupil and Adriana Diaz.

At the top of the chat, the singer recalls he’s been touring for close to a decade but he still has the drive to keep going.

“It feels like there’s always new places to play,” he tells the hosts. “I feel like, at the end of it, I’m going to feel like I wish we had a few more dates.”

When asked about how Davis writes his songs, the singer says it stems from everyday life.

“I’ve got three kids. And another one coming in June,” he says. “A song like ‘Next Thing You Know’ comes from being a dad and having kiddos.”

He continues, adding the many different ways the songwriting can be sparked.

“Sometimes you get the lyrics. Sometimes you’re driving and it pops in your head. Sometimes you jot it down on your phone and you’ve got to get home and grab a guitar and put music to it,” Davis adds. “Sometimes you pick a guitar up and you start playing a few cords, you find a melody you like, and you find some words that fit over that.”

Davis’ family is known to join him on tour. When asked how he prepares for that, the singer notes how he keeps showtimes curt.

“We’re [playing] an hour and a half every night. I think this tour, we’re shooting for 20 to 24 songs,” he is quick to say.

“As far as balancing family life and touring, I still haven’t figured that out,” Davis admits. “If y’all have any tips, please!”
