John Stamos rocked out with his son!
The “Full House” star shared the adorable moments in an Instagram post on Tuesday, July 8. The series of images showcased his recent performance with The Beach Boys, and his 7-year-old son Billy was right by his side.
“Wonderful weekend making beautiful music with @thebeachboys and @mikeloveofficial with a little help from mini me!” he gushed.
One image showed Billy sitting on Stamos’ lap while by the drums. Stamos smiled at the camera while Billy had multiple drumsticks on his fingers.
Billy wore green headphones, as Stamos had the same color green towel around his neck.
Another captured the full venue in the background with Billy standing on the drummer’s stool. His famous dad had his hand around Billy’s waist as they both pointed up.
Stamos has been playing with the band for select shows since 1985. The iconic band even made some appereances on “Full House.”
Stamos Loves Being a Dad
Stamos shares Billy with his wife Caitlin McHugh. He has frequently gushed about becoming a father.
The 61-year-old told PEOPLE in April 2021 how happy fatherhood makes him.
“It’s better than I imagined,” Stamos told the outlet. “I wanted kids my whole life. And I’m just so grateful.”
While he loves being a father, he is grateful it happened later in life.
Stamos spoke with TODAY in August 2022 and said he doesn’t think he could have handled it anytime sooner.
“I’m very grateful to the gods or to the universe or whatever that I’m an older father. I couldn’t have handled it earlier,” he began.
“I’ve wanted kids my whole life. I figured, ‘I can’t wait to be a father, I’ve been a TV father,’ but it’s a whole different ballgame,” he added. “It’s the greatest blessing of my life. I couldn’t imagine my life without him, but it is challenging to do it right.”
Stamos Is Happy With Only One Child
While Stamos loves being a dad, he doesn’t plan on expanding his family, though he originally wanted to.
He told PEOPLE in October 2023, “We did, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards.”
He added, “By the way, [Billy’s] asked for a kid all the time, like a brother or sister. If we take three minutes of not paying attention to him, he goes crazy.”
Stamos also humerously added that he doesn’t think Billy would be on board with a brother or sister.
“He could never deal with a sibling. No, I know he couldn’t. He’d like it at first. Oh, there’s a little baby, then me. We got to deal with a kid,” he noted.
