Actress Jennifer Garner has always been willing to show fans her goofy side on social media.
And now she’s channeling her inner band geek in a new video posted on her Instagram account.
The video shows Garner on a stage, in a University of California Irvine band uniform playing a saxophone alongside members of the actual UC Irvine marching band.
Why, you may ask?
In the post’s caption, Jen explains, “What better way to welcome the @onceuponafarm team to our company retreat celebrating 10 years of O’Farm than members of @UCIband’s incredible marching band. (*errant* 🎷 honks provided by yours truly. 🙋🏻♀️)8h”
Jennifer Garner Celebrates Once Upon a Farm’s Anniversary
Garner’s musical mission was to welcome workers from her organic food company “Once Upon a Farm” to a celebration of the company’s ten-year anniversary.
In the post’s caption, she wrote, “What better way to welcome the @onceuponafarm team to our company retreat celebrating 10 years of O’Farm than members of @UCIband’s incredible marching band. (*errant* 🎷 honks provided by yours truly. 🙋🏻♀️)”
Once Upon a Farm employees walking in to the event didn’t seem to be aware that a movie star was on the stage playing the saxophone. But the UC Irvine band members were here for it.
UC Irvine Marching Band Members Celebrate Celebrity Moment
The University of California Irvine Marching Band posted a pictures of band members with Jennifer Garner on their Instagram account.
The caption read, “A portion of the band had the pleasure of bringing the energy up and entertaining the fine folks of @onceuponafarm. We are truly grateful to their team for inviting us out! We are even more grateful to them for having their co-founder @jennifer.garner to play with us in the band!!! She is forever a member of the Anteater Band!”
Followers of the account for the Anteater Band commented, “Zot, Zot, Zot!”. For the uninitiated, that’s the official victory cheer and battle cry for the school. In fact, the school’s student portal is called the “Zot Portal.” It even has an explanation on the home page that reads, “Zot’ is the Anteater victory cheer! It’s also the sound that Peter the Anteater makes when he snaps out his tongue to catch his food.”
Jennifer Garner Pledges to Run for 67 Days Straight to End Childhood Hunger
But “Once Upon a Farm” is not the only food on Garner’s mind right now.
Jennifer Garner turned 53 on April 17. And to celebrate, she put up a video on Instagram on her birthday of her jogging.
In the video, Garner echoes what she writes in the post’s caption, “Happy birthday to me! As I enter a new year, I feel compelled to do something, to put my feet on the ground for kids. 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
I have been feeling helpless about the world hunger crisis— millions of children are suffering from acute malnutrition and 16,000 children are at immediate risk of dying from preventable causes. I’ve been lucky enough to find myself on the giving side of life and I am lucky enough to have 16 years as an ambassador and Trustee for @savethechildren, an organization I love and trust. Save is embedded in these communities, committed to caring for the world’s most vulnerable.
It costs $67 to provide six weeks of ready-to-eat therapeutic food (RUTF) to bring one child from acute malnutrition to the chance at a healthy, thriving life.
I have and, God willing, will continue to donate to Save the Children. This moment in time feels like a larger call to action is needed. So I am running (not my best or favorite activity, I’m a 🐢 🦥 🐌) one mile a day, no matter what, for the next 67 days.
Run, walk, bike, wheel, skateboard, crawl for kids. Join me for one mile or for 67—any time between now and June 22nd—tag us at #67Strong4Kids and we’ll keep each other going.
If you’d like to donate $6.70 or $16.70 or $67.00, the link is in my bio. ♥️ See you tomorrow.”
