Rapper Walks Out of Interview After Questions About Feud

Rah Ali’s interview with French Montana on her “Sited with Rah Ali” podcast started pretty well, with Montana talking about feeling “blessed” with his life so far. “Like I’m growing, you know,” he told her. “Like, I did a lot, but still got a lot to learn. It’s a different journey. But still the same.”

The two discussed Montana’s authenticity further, with Ali mentioning how she respects that aspect of him. He admits that he’s not the kind of person who will ever rat on someone or sell them out.

Montana and Ali mentioned their 15-year-long friendship, and it seemed like he was more than happy to open up about his life. But with one question, everything changed.

French Montana Shuts Down After Interview Gets Tense: ‘I Think I Double-Parked’

Six minutes into Montana’s conversation with Ali, she asked him if there was a special lady in his life. His demeanor became more guarded, and he quickly replied, “I’ll skip that one.”

“I just want to keep my private life my private life,” the “Lockjaw” singer added.

One minute later, Ali asked him a pointed question, “What is the status of things with [Rick] Ross and Drake?” Looking annoyed, he took off his headphones and lightly tossed them to her, saying “touchdown” when she caught them. Then he said, “I’ll be right back, I think I double-parked my car outside.”

He insisted again that he’d be right back. However, as he walked out, he motioned to the person who’d come with him to follow him. Ali looked shocked, but soon that turned into anger.

“My friendships are long-lasting,” she told the camera while standing in the parking garage. “My friendships are mutual respect, as we said in the interview, and I really was just asking the questions that I know the people want to know.”

“And you know what else?” she continued. “He’s going to finish that interview. He’s going to finish it.”

Montana Was a Factor in Ross’s Feud With Drake

Ross and Drake have known each other for a long time and have collaborated on numerous occasions, including for the hits “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” “Money in the Grave,” and with DJ Khaled for “I’m On One.” Their feud, ironically, seemed to have been sparked partly because Drake sent Montana a cease-and-desist letter over the song “Splash Brothers.”

After Drake took some shots at Ross in his “Push Ups” diss track, Ross returned the favor. In “Champagne Moments,” he mentions Drake’s nose job, racial insecurities, along with the cease-and-desist letter.
