Ed Sheeran Announces New Music Video Ahead of Album Release

From kicking off the European leg of his “Mathematics” tour to releasing new music, Ed Sheeran is only getting started.

Sheeran’s third single, “Sapphire”, from his upcoming album, “Play”, will be hitting music streaming platforms on June 5. 


“Sapphire” Music Video Tease has Fans Talking

However, fans were in for a surprise as the official Sheeran Instagram headquarters account posted on June 2 the official music video for “Sapphire” is set to be released alongside the track.

The teaser for the music video showcases a collage of videos showcasing Sheeran in different settings with different people. However, every clip includes the singer with a big smile on his face.

Fans took to the comments section to share their excitement for the upcoming release.

“Can’t wait to blast this driving with the windows down and in my workout classes!!” one fan shared.

“Counting down the seconds for ‘Sapphire’💙💎🔥 It’s going to be absolutely spectacular!” another fan commented.

Sheeran took to his Instagram account to share a “Sapphire dumpington”.

“Totally obsessed with Sapphire, I hear the first seconds, I instantly wanna dance 💃😍💎,” one fan shared in the comments section.

“I am sooooo overwhelmed by this post😍 so many things and people I admire in one place! Can’t wait to hear the song!” another fan commented.


Ed Sheeran is on the Road

The “Thinking out Loud” singer is on the European leg of his “Mathematics” tour. Special guests Tori Kelly and Myles Smith are hitting the road with Sheeran and kicked off the tour on May 30.

Kelly and Sheeran surprised fans on the opening night of the tour in Europe. They sang their track “I Was Made For Loving You” live for the first time.

Sheeran and Smith also surprised fans as they sang Sheeran’s song “Kiss Me”. Smith took to his Instagram to share a sweet video of the singers sharing the stage.

“Mum, I said I would do it ❤️… @teddysphotos I will forever be grateful for you. Words can’t explain,” Smith wrote in the caption of the video.

Smith also went on to share how special the moment was for him.

“I cried, my mum cried, my whole Team cried,” Smith Wrote. “I remember playing this song in my mum’s bedroom when I was 11 years old when PLUS came out. I remember how many years I said to her one day that I would play with Ed. I remember buying a loop pedal to try and be like Ed, and learning the whole album. And after 15 years of finding myself, I finally did it. I love ya @teddysphotos
