Ed Sheeran surprised fans this week with a different version of his hit song “Thinking out Loud“. Sheeran and Elena Rose, a Venezuelan-American singer, shared a collaborative post on Instagram showcasing the artists singing a bilingual version of the song.
Sheeran strummed the guitar as Rose sang in Spanish her own version of a verse.
Fans and friends alike took on the comments sections to show their support for the artists’ video. Latin-music singers such as Sebastian Yatra, Manuel Turizo and Gabriel Coronel slid into the comments section.
Ed Sheeran’s Pop Up Jam in Mexico
From intimate performances to world tours, Sheeran has given fans from around the globe musical memories they can take with them. This week, the singer created another meaningful moment for listeners in Mexico.
On May 14, Sheeran posted a video sharing the “pop up jam” he did with local musicians in Mexico. In the video, Sheeran is seen playing his guitar as he sings his new song “Old Phone”. Surrounding him and the musicians, is a crowd of fans singing, dancing and recording the moment.
Rose joined him in the pop up jam for the bilingual version of “Thinking out Loud”.
“I didn’t know I needed a collab between you and Elena Rose,” wrote one fan in the comments section, “but now I need it so bad! Please please please!”.
Support from locals were also seen in the comments with one person writing “Welcome to beautiful Mexico! We love you and we are very happy to know you’re here! Enjoy the amazing and unique food! Mexicans love you! We totally do!
Ed Sheeran’s Intimate Shows
In a similar intimate fashion, Sheeran and Noah Kahan, folk-pop singer, took on a pub last month in Nashville to do dueling songs.
In the video shared by Sheeran on his instagram, Kahan, fans and Sheeran are seen casually gathered around a table singing “Stick Season”. Some listeners are seen recording the special performance while others seem to get lost in the music, raising their drinks, singing along and enjoying the unique moment.
Fans took on the comments section to share their want for a project between the two singers.
“The ultimately collab,” one person commented.
“I don’t think I’d even recover from this,” another person wrote.
“What a dream for those people,” one fan wrote “Two legends in one place just sitting right next to you.”
