Drake has transformed his private Boeing 767 into the ultimate sky-high sanctuary that puts most luxury hotels to shame. The “God’s Plan” hitmaker recently offered fans an exclusive peek inside his newly renovated “Air Drake,” revealing upgrades that push the boundaries of what’s possible at 30,000 feet.
“When I first got my plane, I was in this hangar. It’s like, probably one of the craziest moments of my life,” Drake shared in an Instagram video to his 142 million followers. The Toronto native went on to explain how Cargojet CEO Ajay Virmani made him an offer he couldn’t refuse: “I actually didn’t believe it until [he] told me, ‘I’m gonna get you the biggest jet in the game out of anybody, like, it’d be like you and the president, that’s it.'”
The Boeing 767-300F, initially constructed in 1996 as a cargo freighter, became Drake’s flying fortress through a strategic partnership with Cargojet in 2019. While the deal reportedly involved no direct payment from the rapper, the Canadian cargo airline recognized the immense brand exposure that would come from Drake’s global visibility.
From Cargo Plane to Celebrity Palace
The transformation of this aircraft represents one of the most ambitious private jet renovations in entertainment history. With an estimated $80-100 million invested in upgrades, the total value has soared to approximately $185 million. The massive aircraft now accommodates 30-45 passengers, prioritizing comfort and luxury over maximum capacity.
Drake’s tour highlighted the jet’s most impressive features, starting with his private bedroom suite. The master quarters feature a king-size bed, a flat-screen television, and mirrored walls that create the illusion of even more space. The main lounge area showcases custom pillows arranged on plush faux fur seating. The lighting has been updated from the original “bold and pink” scheme to what Drake describes as a “more luxurious, warmer” ambiance with contemporary purple LED lighting and refined furnishings.
For entertainment, the aircraft boasts a dedicated movie screening area, alongside three separate bedrooms for guests or crew members. The rapper emphasized the importance of having spaces where passengers can “duck off” and find privacy during long-haul flights.
High-Stakes Gaming Meets High Altitude
Perhaps the most unique addition to Air Drake is the custom Stake gambling center, reflecting the artist’s well-documented partnership with the crypto betting platform. This airborne casino allows Drake to continue his high-stakes gaming sessions while traveling between tour destinations.
The exterior design remains unchanged from its original concept, preserving the vision of late fashion icon Virgil Abloh. The sky-blue and white cloud-themed paint job features Drake’s OVO owl logo on the tail, bold “Air Drake” branding along the engines, and the phrase “IF YOU’RE READING THIS WE LEFT” — a reference to his 2015 mixtape “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.”
With an estimated net worth of $250 million, Drake’s aviation investment serves as both personal luxury and mobile creative studio. The plane functions as transportation, entertainment venue, and workspace while traveling between cities during his European tour dates.
