Aimee Osbourne, the eldest daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, famously chose to step away from the family’s reality TV fame and build a life and music career on her own terms.
Now, following her father’s passing at age 76, fans are calling on her to carry on the Osbourne legacy in a new way.
A Quiet Life in a Famous Family

Born on September 2, 1983, Aimee is the first child of Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, and Ozzy’s third overall—he shares two older children, Jessica and Louis, with his first wife, Thelma Riley.
While her younger siblings Kelly and Jack gained fame on MTV’s “The Osbournes,” Aimee famously chose to opt out. “She hated the idea—it was appalling to her. It broke my heart” Sharon shared on “The Talk” in 2018 via People. “And so she left at 16 and I regret every day that she did.”
Aimee moved out of the family home at 16 to avoid filming, a choice that shaped her private persona. “For me, I had grown up around having a pretty well-known dad anyway, and … I always really valued my privacy within that family,” she said in a 2020 radio interview.
She continued, “As far as morally and also just to give myself a chance to actually develop into a human being as opposed to just being remembered for being a teenager, it didn’t really line up with what I saw my future as.”
Supporters Urge Aimee Osbourne to Honor Ozzy’s Musical Legacy
Following Ozzy’s passing, tributes have poured in from across the globe. On Aimee’s Instagram—typically used to promote her synth-pop music under the moniker ARO—fans left condolences and encouragement.
“I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. Your father’s legacy will live on forever, through his music and yours,” one follower wrote. Another added, “You grew up to be an amazing artist yourself. My condolences to you and your family. Your father was a legend.”
Aimee has slowly returned to public life in recent years. In 2023, she celebrated a career milestone by recording at the legendary Abbey Road Studios. She described the moment as “emotional” and noted the year had been full of “heartbreak and twists and turns.”
Despite her low profile, Aimee has acknowledged the complicated dynamics with her family. “We don’t talk,” Kelly Osbourne said of Aimee on the “Armchair Expert” podcast in 2021. “We’re just really different. She doesn’t understand me, and I don’t understand her.”
Aimee has echoed that sentiment in past interviews. “I wouldn’t say there is an ease between us, but there is an acceptance. Do we socialize? No,” she told The Independent.
Despite their complex family history, Sharon, Kelly, Jack, Aimee, and Louis Osbourne came together to share a unified statement following the music icon’s passing. ‘It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,’ the message posted on social media read. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis.'”
As fans mourn the loss of Ozzy Osbourne, many are also reflecting on the daughter who chose a different path. Whether Aimee steps further into the spotlight or continues to forge her own way, many hope this difficult moment brings the family closer together and towards a path of healing.
